Quick answer
AML jobs are roles in banks, global banks' India centres, consulting firms, BPO/KPO firms and fintechs where you check customers (KYC), review alerts on suspicious transactions and sanctions matches, investigate cases and help report them to the authorities. On 24 October 2026, Naukri showed about 16,323 results for "aml" across India and about 9,311 for "aml analyst". These are keyword matches, not a count of open AML jobs, but they show steady demand, led by Bengaluru, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Gurugram and Chennai. Most listings ask for any graduate with 1 to 6 years of experience, strong Excel and clear writing.
- Common titles: KYC analyst, CDD/EDD analyst, transaction monitoring analyst (L1/L2), sanctions screening analyst, AML investigator, QC/QA analyst, compliance officer
- Who hires: foreign and Indian banks, global capability centres (GCCs), Big Four and consulting firms, BPO/KPO firms, fintechs
- Typical pay: AmbitionBox showed ₹5.8 to 6.4 lakh a year for AML analysts with 1 to 7 years' experience (October 2026)
- Work pattern: mostly office or hybrid, often with night, rotational or US-aligned shifts
- Entry route: KYC or L1 alert review roles, then L2 investigations, then senior and manager roles
Key takeaways
- Job portal numbers are keyword matches that include unrelated roles, so treat them as a demand signal, not a vacancy count.
- KYC and L1 transaction monitoring are the main entry doors; investigations, sanctions and QA follow with experience.
- Most job descriptions we read on 24 October 2026 asked for "any graduate", listed certifications such as ACAMS or ICA as "good to have", and named Excel more than any other tool.
- Fully remote AML jobs are rare in India; expect office or hybrid work and shifts aligned to US, UK or European clients.
- Read the job description, not the tag. Some listings tagged "AML" describe unrelated work, and "KYC verification from home" offers deserve extra care.
1. AML jobs at a glance
Short answer: AML work splits into a few clear job families, from onboarding checks to investigations, and each family has its own daily tasks, experience level and pay band.
Use this table as your map. Salary ranges are AmbitionBox "typical ranges" shown to logged-out users in October 2026, so read them as guides, not offers. The years in brackets are the experience range each AmbitionBox figure covers.
Here is the usual career flow in AML operations, step by step:
- Entry: KYC analyst or L1 alert reviewer
- Core: CDD/EDD analyst, L2 transaction monitoring or sanctions analyst
- Specialist: AML investigator, QC/QA analyst, senior analyst
- Lead: team leader, assistant manager, compliance officer
- Senior: AML manager, financial crime head, consulting or AML technology roles
2. What are AML jobs?
Short answer: AML jobs are the people side of anti money laundering: the analysts, investigators and officers who run the checks that banks and other financial firms must carry out by law.
Anti money laundering (AML) means the laws, rules and checks that stop criminals from making illegal money look legal. If you are new to the subject, start with our pillar guide on what anti money laundering is, which covers the three stages, Indian law and global standards.
In India, banks and other "reporting entities" must verify customers, keep records and report to the Financial Intelligence Unit – India (FIU-IND) under the Prevention of Money-laundering Act, 2002 (PMLA). For example, FIU-IND's FAQs say a suspicious transaction report must be filed not later than 7 working days after the reporting entity is satisfied that a transaction is suspicious, and there is no minimum amount (FIU-IND, October 2026). Commercial banks follow the RBI's Know Your Customer Directions, currently the Reserve Bank of India (Commercial Banks – Know Your Customer) Directions, 2025, updated as on 1 October 2026 (RBI, October 2026). These duties never stop, so firms need trained people every day. This is education, not legal advice; check the current Act, notification or a lawyer for your own case.
Many AML jobs in India also serve overseas banks. That is why job descriptions name foreign rules such as the US Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), FATCA and OFAC, EU and UK sanctions.
Words you will see in every AML job description:
- KYC (Know Your Customer): checking who a customer is with documents and reliable sources
- CDD (Customer Due Diligence): identifying and verifying the customer and the beneficial owner, and understanding the relationship
- EDD (Enhanced Due Diligence): extra checks for high-risk customers, such as source of funds and senior approval
- PEP (Politically Exposed Person): someone with a prominent public role, who needs closer review
- Sanctions: government lists of people, firms and countries you cannot deal with; screening checks names against these lists
- Alert: a flag raised by monitoring or screening software that an analyst must review
- False positive: an alert that turns out to be harmless after review
- STR / SAR: suspicious transaction report (India's term) or suspicious activity report (the term in US and UK work)
- CTR: cash transaction report, a routine report of large cash transactions
- FATF: the Financial Action Task Force, the global body that sets AML standards
- Typology: a known pattern or method of laundering, such as structuring or mule accounts
- L1, L2, L3: levels of review; L1 does first-pass alert review, L2 investigates escalated cases, L3 handles the most complex cases, quality or final decisions
3. AML job market snapshot: counts by city (24 October 2026)
Short answer: On 24 October 2026, Naukri showed about 16,323 results for "aml" across India, with Bengaluru, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Gurugram and Chennai each above 1,000; these are keyword-match counts that include duplicates and unrelated roles.
We searched Naukri while logged out on 24 October 2026 and noted the "1 - 20 of N" figure for each search. Counts change daily and include loosely related roles, so use them to compare cities and job types, not as a number of vacancies.
On LinkedIn's public job search, the page title read "3,000+ AML jobs in India" on 24 October 2026, and a search for "KYC Analyst" across India showed "2,000+". LinkedIn rounds large numbers.
How to read these numbers honestly:
- Broad matching inflates some searches. "kyc analyst" (25,842) and "transaction monitoring" (37,686) showed more results than "aml" because Naukri also matches words like "analyst" and "monitoring", which pull in IT monitoring and data analyst roles.
- Page one already drifts. In Hyderabad, the first page of "aml analyst" results mixed in financial analyst, business analysis and network roles. The real AML/KYC share is smaller than the headline number.
- Fresher searches are thin. Most "aml fresher" results on Naukri on 24 October 2026 were BPO and recruitment-agency posts; bank and Big Four AML roles usually asked for 1 to 3 years or more.
- Sanctions is a niche. Only 294 results for "sanctions screening" shows that sanctions roles are fewer and more specialised.
The takeaway: demand is real and spread across six big metros, but you should judge the market by reading actual listings, not by headline counts.
4. AML job titles and what each one does
Short answer: Most AML jobs fall into seven titles: KYC analyst, CDD/EDD analyst, transaction monitoring analyst (L1/L2), sanctions screening analyst, AML investigator, QC/QA analyst and compliance officer, plus a growing set of AML technology roles.
Titles vary by company. "Process associate", "officer", "specialist" and "senior associate" can all mean AML work. Always read the tasks listed in the description.
KYC analyst (also called onboarding or client due diligence analyst)
You verify identity documents, company records and ownership structures when a client joins or when their file comes up for renewal. You check names in screening tools, record findings and flag risks. Wipro's KYC/AML analyst listing in Gurugram (1 to 4 years, seen 24 October 2026) described client onboarding, KYC/CDD reviews, account maintenance, document verification and data validation. This is the largest entry door into the field.
CDD and EDD analyst
You go deeper than basic KYC. For corporate clients, you trace the beneficial owners and understand the business. For high-risk clients, you do EDD: source of funds, source of wealth, adverse media and PEP checks. PwC India's Associate KYC&AML listing in Bengaluru (3 to 6 years, seen 24 October 2026) described CDD on banks, trusts, funds and special purpose vehicles, including identity, source of funds and beneficial ownership, plus sanctions and adverse-media screening.
Transaction monitoring analyst (L1 and L2)
Monitoring software raises alerts when transactions look unusual, for example sudden large credits or many small deposits. At L1 you review each alert, check the customer profile and either close it as a false positive or escalate it. Deutsche Bank's 0 to 3 year AML monitoring and screening listing (Jaipur/Bengaluru, still live on 24 October 2026) described reviewing APAC alerts at L1 and deciding to close or escalate. At L2 you investigate escalated cases and write narratives. A Guidehouse walk-in in Hyderabad (2 to 6 years) asked for L2 alert investigation and SAR/STR narratives.
Sanctions screening analyst
You review name matches against sanctions, PEP and negative-news lists and decide whether a match is real. Wise's FinCrime Operations Analyst role in Hyderabad, marked "Entry level" on LinkedIn (seen 24 October 2026), asked candidates to review sanctions-screening matches and AML alerts, keep up with OFAC, EU and UK sanctions and document decision rationale.
AML investigator
You handle complex cases end to end: transaction analysis, open-source research, links between accounts and a clear written case narrative that supports or rejects a suspicious activity report. Guidehouse's Process Associate role in Hyderabad (seen 24 October 2026) described end-to-end AML investigation reviews in retail banking and crypto, with written narratives and productivity, quality and SLA targets.
QC/QA analyst
You check other analysts' work for accuracy and policy compliance. Quality matters a lot in AML: State Street's AML Senior Associate listing in Hyderabad named a minimum quality score of 99%. Amazon listed an "AML QA Specialist" role in Hyderabad in October 2026 that required Swedish, which shows that language skills open some QA roles.
Compliance officer and managers
With experience, you move into roles that own policies, controls, audits, regulator contact and team performance. In an Indian bank, a Principal Officer reports to FIU-IND and a Designated Director is responsible for overall PMLA compliance, and one person cannot hold both roles (RBI KYC Directions, October 2026). Senior listings we saw included an AML Compliance Manager at Hinduja Leyland Finance in Chennai (12 to 16 years).
AML technology and analytics roles
Not every AML job is operations. Listings seen in October 2026 included a FircoSoft developer at TCS in Hyderabad, Actimize developer and business analyst roles in Pune, a NetReveal developer at Kiya.ai in Chennai and an Oracle AML FCCM developer at algoleap in Hyderabad. Bank of America's AML performance monitoring role in Hyderabad/Mumbai asked for R, Python, SAS and SQL with 60 to 84 months' experience. These suit people with IT or data skills.
5. Who hires for AML jobs in India
Short answer: Five types of employers hire most AML staff in India: foreign banks and their GCCs, Indian banks and NBFCs, Big Four and consulting firms, BPO/KPO and IT services firms, and fintech or crypto firms.
A GCC (global capability centre) is a company's own India office that runs work for its global business. Many AML teams in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Pune, Chennai and Mumbai are GCC teams serving clients in the US, UK and Europe.
The companies below had AML, KYC or financial crime listings on LinkedIn or Naukri when we checked on 24 October 2026. These are listings seen on that date, not hiring commitments, and the list is not complete.
Two points to keep in mind. First, a JPMorganChase senior KYC/AML listing (13 October 2026) described teams "across Hyderabad and Bengaluru" doing KYC renewals and onboarding for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, which shows how much client work runs from Indian centres. Second, we did not find AML listings in Hyderabad on that date for several big names, so do not assume every large bank or IT firm hires for AML in every city.
City by city, the counts in section 3 match this picture. For a deeper local view with a company table and a 12-week plan, read AML jobs in Hyderabad.
6. Skills and tools AML job descriptions ask for
Short answer: Across 11 job descriptions we read on 24 October 2026, employers asked for KYC/CDD/EDD and alert review skills, knowledge of FATF, BSA, FATCA and OFAC/EU/UK sanctions, strong Excel, clear written narratives and accuracy under targets; named tools included World-Check, Actimize, Fircosoft and Mantas.
Here is what came up again and again, grouped so you can use it as a checklist.
Domain knowledge
- KYC, CDD and EDD on individuals and entities, including complex ownership structures
- Transaction monitoring alert review at L1 and L2, and when to escalate
- Sanctions, PEP and adverse-media screening
- Money laundering red flags and typologies, plus terrorist financing and fraud basics
- Regulations named: FATF standards, the US Bank Secrecy Act, FATCA, OFAC, EU and UK sanctions, and RBI KYC/AML guidelines in an Indian listing
Tools
- Excel: asked for in most listings, often "advanced MS Excel" (State Street) or "strong Excel and large data sets" (Bank of America)
- Screening and research: World-Check and internal search tools (State Street)
- Monitoring platforms: Actimize, Fircosoft and Mantas (Deutsche Bank); NetReveal and Oracle FCCM in technology listings
- Data tools: SQL, SAS, R and Python for analytics roles (Bank of America)
You do not need hands-on access to expensive AML platforms to apply for entry roles. Employers train you on their own systems. What helps is understanding what each type of tool does, and being fast and accurate in Excel.
Soft skills
- Clear written English for case narratives and decision rationale
- Attention to detail and steady accuracy under productivity, quality and SLA targets
- Judgement on when to escalate and when to close
- Willingness to work shifts aligned with overseas clients
Qualifications and certifications
Most listings asked for "any graduate". Some preferred finance or commerce: State Street said "Graduate and above preferably in Finance", and Interactive Brokers asked for a bachelor's in finance, economics, accounting or information systems. Certifications such as ACAMS, ICA, CFE or CFCS appeared as "good to have" or "a plus", not as must-haves. So a certification can help your resume, but it is not a gate for most entry roles.
7. Experience levels: where freshers fit
Short answer: Most AML operations listings ask for 1 to 6 years of experience; true 0 to 1 year roles are a small minority, so freshers usually enter through KYC, L1 or BPO compliance processes.
Some listings we saw on 24 October 2026 were open to new graduates: Deutsche Bank's 0 to 3 year monitoring and screening role, Wise's "Entry level" FinCrime Operations Analyst in Hyderabad, Muthoot Finance's "KYC freshers only" role in Bengaluru and Incedo's 0 to 2 year KYC Associate role in Gurugram.
Read the job text, not the tag. An Accenture "Business Advisory New Associate" listing in Hyderabad (0 to 1 years) was tagged "Anti-Money Laundering (AML)", but its description was about Trust and Safety content moderation. A fresher-focused KYC AML analyst listing on Naukri came from a training and placement firm, not a bank.
For a full fresher plan with 30/60/90-day skills, resume bullets and red flags, read AML jobs for freshers.
8. Shifts and work from home: the reality
Short answer: Most AML jobs in India are office or hybrid roles with shifts set by the client's time zone; fully remote AML jobs are rare, and "KYC work from home" offers need careful checking.
People search "aml jobs work from home" and "kyc jobs work from home" a lot. Here is what the listings actually said on 24 October 2026:
Why so much office work? AML teams handle confidential customer data for regulated banks, so many employers prefer controlled office networks. Whether you get a hybrid option depends on the employer, the client and the role; the hybrid listing above was a senior role.
How to protect yourself from fake "work from home KYC" offers:
- Check that the employer is a real bank, consulting firm, BPO or fintech with a careers page.
- Read the tasks. Real AML jobs describe alert review, due diligence or investigations, not "typing" or "app verification" for daily pay.
- Never pay a registration, training or "security" fee to get a job.
- Never share your own bank login, OTP or KYC documents beyond normal hiring paperwork through official channels.
- Be careful with offers that come only through messaging apps with no interview.
If a role is genuine, the shift, location and work mode will be written in the offer letter. Ask about them before you accept.
9. AML salary snapshot
Short answer: AmbitionBox showed a typical range of ₹5.8 to 6.4 lakh a year for AML analysts in India and ₹4.5 to 5 lakh for KYC analysts in October 2026; the lowest reported band, 1 to 3 years, was about ₹3.8 to 4.9 lakh for KYC and AML analysts.
These are typical ranges shown to logged-out users on AmbitionBox, self-reported by employees, with the sample size and update date noted. Small samples move a lot, so treat them with care.
By city, AmbitionBox showed AML analyst ranges of ₹5.5 to 6 lakh in Bengaluru, ₹5.5 to 6.1 lakh in Mumbai, ₹5 to 5.5 lakh in Chennai and ₹4.7 to 5.2 lakh in Hyderabad (October 2026). Pune showed ₹5.5 to 7.1 lakh, but from only 90 salaries. AmbitionBox also said AML analyst average pay grew about 20% over the two years to 2026.
For freshers, AmbitionBox had no reported band below one year except an "AmbitionBox Est." of ₹3.4 to 3.7 lakh for AML KYC analysts at 0 to 1 year, which is an estimate, not reported pay. Many reported AML analyst salaries also come from BPO-industry employers, which pulls the averages down. For pay by title, city and experience in detail, read our AML analyst salary in India guide.
10. How to apply for AML jobs: a step-by-step plan
Short answer: Learn the core concepts, build a keyword-matched resume, apply through portals, company careers pages, walk-ins and referrals, and prepare for case-based interviews.
Step 1: Pick your target title
Choose one or two titles that match your profile. Freshers and BPO staff usually target KYC analyst or L1 alert reviewer. Bank staff with branch or operations experience can target CDD/EDD or transaction monitoring. People with IT skills can target AML technology roles.
Step 2: Learn the basics that every interview checks
- The three stages of money laundering and common typologies
- KYC, CDD, EDD, PEP and beneficial ownership
- How an alert is reviewed, closed or escalated
- What an STR is and that FIU-IND expects it within 7 working days of the suspicion decision
- FATF and the main sanctions lists (OFAC, EU, UK)
Step 3: Build proof of skill
Practise reviewing sample bank statements, spot red flags and write short case narratives of 150 to 250 words. Practise Excel: filters, pivot tables, VLOOKUP or XLOOKUP and simple formulas for spotting patterns. These are skills you can show in an interview.
Step 4: Write a keyword-matched resume
Copy the exact words employers use: KYC, CDD, EDD, PEP, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, alert review, escalation, case narrative, STR/SAR, World-Check, Excel. Show accuracy and volume where you have real numbers from any past job.
Step 5: Apply through four channels
Step 6: Prepare for the interview
Expect questions on basics, a short scenario such as "this customer receives many small cash deposits and sends one large transfer abroad, what do you do?", and HR questions about shifts. Our list of AML interview questions covers model answers.
Step 7: Track and follow up
Keep a simple sheet of company, role, date applied, contact and status. Apply to a few well-matched roles every day rather than hundreds at once. Skip any "job guarantee" that asks you to pay a fee, and any listing with an AML tag but unrelated tasks.
11. A 30-day AML job search checklist
Short answer: In 30 days you can move from knowing the basics to sending focused applications, if you spend about two hours a day on learning, practice and applying.
Tick each row only when you have the output. If you already work in a bank or BPO, you can compress weeks 1 and 2.
12. Will AI replace AML jobs?
Short answer: AI is changing AML work, but it is not removing the need for analysts; software flags and scores alerts, while trained people still review cases, judge risk and sign off.
Banks are adding machine learning to score alerts and find patterns such as mule account rings, but a human analyst still reviews the alert and makes the decision. The job listings we read in October 2026 point the same way. Alongside operations roles, firms posted AML analytics and technology roles: EY listed a "FinCrime AI" senior role in Hyderabad, and Bank of America listed an AML performance monitoring role that asked for Python, SAS and SQL.
What this means for you:
- Routine data gathering will keep getting automated, so the value moves to judgement, investigation and clear writing.
- Analysts who understand data, Excel and SQL will find it easier to move into model testing, tuning and analytics roles.
- Learning how monitoring tools work, even at a basic level, makes you more useful as tools change.
13. How Brolly Academy helps

- Any stream can join, age 18+, and no finance or coding background is needed. The next batch listed is Monday, 2 November 2026, and you can attend a free demo class first.
Third-party certifications such as the IIBF Certificate in AML and KYC or ACAMS CAMS are issued and examined by those bodies, not Brolly Academy, and their fees are separate.

Frequently asked questions
What are AML jobs?
AML jobs are roles where you help banks and financial firms stop criminals from moving illegal money. You check customers through KYC, review alerts on unusual transactions and sanctions matches, investigate suspicious cases and support reports to the authorities. Common titles include KYC analyst, AML analyst, transaction monitoring analyst, sanctions screening analyst, AML investigator, QC analyst and compliance officer.
Are AML jobs in demand in India?
Yes, demand looks steady. On 24 October 2026, Naukri showed about 16,323 results for "aml" across India and LinkedIn showed "3,000+" AML results. These are keyword matches that include unrelated roles, so they are not exact vacancy counts. The legal duty on banks and other reporting entities to check customers and report suspicious activity keeps the need for trained staff constant.
How many AML jobs are there in India?
No portal gives an exact count of AML vacancies. On 24 October 2026, Naukri showed about 16,323 results for "aml" and about 9,311 for "aml analyst" across India. These figures include duplicates and loosely related roles, so the true number of AML openings is smaller. Use the numbers to compare cities and job types, not as a vacancy total.
Which city has the most AML jobs in India?
On 24 October 2026, Bengaluru showed the most Naukri results for "aml" at about 2,483, followed by Mumbai at about 2,371, Pune at about 1,332, Hyderabad at about 1,163, Gurgaon at about 1,103 and Chennai at about 1,008. These are keyword-match counts, so the order can change from day to day.
What does an AML analyst do?
An AML analyst reviews alerts raised by monitoring and screening systems, checks the customer's profile and transactions, and decides whether to close the alert as a false positive or escalate it. At higher levels, analysts investigate escalated cases and write case narratives that support suspicious activity reports. Accuracy and clear writing matter in every part of the job.
What is the difference between KYC jobs and AML jobs?
KYC jobs focus on verifying who a customer is, using documents, company records and ownership checks at onboarding and renewal. AML jobs are broader and include monitoring transactions, reviewing alerts, sanctions screening and investigations. KYC is usually the entry door, and many people move from KYC into transaction monitoring, sanctions or investigation roles within a few years.
What qualifications do I need for AML jobs?
Most AML job descriptions we read in October 2026 asked for any graduate. Some preferred finance or commerce degrees. Certifications such as ACAMS, ICA, CFE or CFCS were listed as good to have or a plus, not as requirements. Employers care most about KYC and alert-review knowledge, strong Excel, clear written English and accuracy under targets.
Can freshers get AML jobs?
Yes, but fresher roles are fewer. Most AML operations listings ask for 1 to 6 years of experience. Some entry options seen in October 2026 included Deutsche Bank's 0 to 3 year monitoring role, Wise's entry-level role in Hyderabad and fresher KYC roles at Muthoot Finance and Incedo. Freshers usually start in KYC, L1 alert review or BPO compliance processes.
Is CAMS required to get an AML job?
No. In the job descriptions we read in October 2026, ACAMS certification appeared as good to have or a plus, not as a must-have for entry roles. CAMS becomes more useful once you have some AML experience and want to move into senior, investigation or global bank roles. For your first job, focus on core knowledge, Excel and case writing.
Are AML jobs work from home?
Fully remote AML jobs are rare in India. Most roles are office-based or hybrid because teams handle confidential customer data for regulated banks. Hybrid options depend on the employer, client and role. One Hyderabad listing for a senior KYC-AML role at Citco was marked hybrid in October 2026. Always check the work mode in the job description and offer letter.
Are KYC work from home jobs genuine?
Some are, but many "KYC verification from home" offers deserve caution. Genuine KYC roles come from real banks, consulting firms, BPOs or fintechs, describe due diligence work and include a proper interview. Be wary of offers that ask for a registration or training fee, pay per task, ask for your own bank login or OTP, or come only through messaging apps.
Do AML jobs have night shifts?
Many do. AML teams in India often serve clients in the US, UK and Europe, so shifts follow the client's time zone. Listings in October 2026 mentioned night shifts if required at State Street, rotational or client-aligned shifts at Guidehouse, and a shift allowance with pickup and drop at Interactive Brokers. Ask about the shift before you accept an offer.
What is the salary for AML jobs in India?
AmbitionBox showed a typical range of ₹5.8 to 6.4 lakh a year for AML analysts with 1 to 7 years of experience in October 2026, based on 3.3k salaries. AML analysts with 6 to 9 years showed ₹8.4 to 9.4 lakh. These are self-reported figures, so use them as a guide rather than an offer.
What is the salary for KYC analyst jobs?
AmbitionBox showed a typical range of ₹4.5 to 5 lakh a year for KYC analysts in India in October 2026, based on 8.8k salaries from people with 1 to 6 years of experience. The 1 to 3 year band showed ₹3.8 to 4.2 lakh. Pay rises as you move into CDD, EDD, monitoring or investigation work.
What salary can a fresher expect in AML?
AmbitionBox had no reported band below one year in October 2026, except an estimate of ₹3.4 to 3.7 lakh a year for AML KYC analysts at 0 to 1 year, which is not based on reported salaries. The lowest reported band, 1 to 3 years, was about ₹3.8 to 4.9 lakh a year for KYC and AML analysts.
Which companies hire for AML jobs in India?
In listings seen on 24 October 2026, AML and KYC roles appeared at foreign banks and their India centres such as JPMorganChase, State Street, Bank of America and Deutsche Bank, at consulting firms such as EY, Deloitte, PwC and Guidehouse, at BPO and IT firms such as Wipro and Genpact, and at fintechs such as Wise and Tide. Listings are not hiring commitments.
Do Big Four firms hire for AML jobs?
Yes, Big Four firms had AML and financial crime listings live on 24 October 2026. They included EY's fraud and financial crime roles and Deloitte's third-party due diligence role in Hyderabad, PwC's FCU/KYC senior associate role in Hyderabad and Bengaluru, and an older KPMG India KYC AML senior analyst listing in Bengaluru. Most asked for some prior KYC or AML experience.
What skills do employers want for AML jobs?
Employers asked for KYC, CDD and EDD reviews, transaction monitoring and sanctions alert review, and clear written case narratives. They named FATF, the Bank Secrecy Act, FATCA and OFAC, EU and UK sanctions. Excel appeared in most listings. Soft skills included attention to detail, judgement on escalation and steady accuracy under quality and SLA targets.
Which tools should I know for AML jobs?
Job descriptions in October 2026 named World-Check for screening and research, Actimize, Fircosoft and Mantas for monitoring and screening, and Excel in most listings. Analytics roles added SQL, SAS, R and Python. You do not need licences for these platforms to apply, because employers train you on their own systems, but you should understand what each tool does.
What is L1 and L2 in AML jobs?
L1 and L2 are levels of review. An L1 analyst does the first check on an alert and either closes it as a false positive or escalates it. An L2 analyst investigates escalated cases in depth and writes the case narrative. L3 handles the most complex cases, quality reviews or final decisions, depending on the team.
How do I apply for AML jobs?
Pick one or two target titles, learn the basics, practise case narratives and Excel, and build a resume with the exact keywords from job descriptions. Then apply through Naukri and LinkedIn alerts, company careers pages, walk-in drives and referrals from people in AML teams. Track your applications and prepare for scenario-based interview questions.
How long does it take to get an AML job?
It depends on your background and effort. With about two hours a day, you can learn the basics, build proof of skill, prepare a keyword-matched resume and send 20 to 30 targeted applications within 30 days. Bank and BPO staff often move faster because they already know customer processes. Interviews then depend on fit and timing.
Will AI replace AML jobs?
AI is changing AML work but not removing analysts. Software scores alerts and spots patterns, while trained people still review cases, judge risk and sign off. Job listings in October 2026 showed firms adding AML analytics and AI roles alongside operations roles. Analysts who build judgement, writing and data skills such as Excel and SQL will adapt best.
Is AML a good career in India?
AML can be a stable career because the law requires banks and other reporting entities to check customers and report suspicious activity every day. Entry roles can be target-driven and shift-based, but the path from KYC to investigations, quality, management or AML technology is clear. Pay rises with experience, with AML analysts at 6 to 9 years showing ₹8.4 to 9.4 lakh.
