About Hybris Training
Hybris is a widely used earlier name associated with SAP Commerce. The current learning focus is SAP Commerce Cloud: a platform for building and operating commerce experiences. Developers need to understand the data model and business flow, not only how to edit a storefront screen.
SAP Commerce Cloud is not the same as SAP Sales Cloud, SAP Service Cloud or every product previously marketed under the Hybris name. This course is commerce-development focused. Older cockpit and accelerator tutorials should be interpreted in the context of the supported project version and storefront architecture.
For product-specific terminology and behaviour, use SAP Commerce Cloud documentation. Match the documentation to the environment used in your exercises.
Who Should Join?
A working knowledge of Java, object-oriented programming, basic SQL and web requests is strongly recommended. Spring concepts and Git are helpful. A complete programming beginner should build these foundations before attempting the full developer path.

3. ImpEx and FlexibleSearch
Import structured data with clear identifiers and diagnose unresolved records. Use parameterized FlexibleSearch queries to retrieve platform items and inspect results. Avoid treating a successful import as proof that the business data is correct. Output: an import file, validation queries and an error-resolution log.
4. Services, facades and business logic
Explore service-layer responsibilities and the separation of business logic from presentation-facing data. Practise dependency injection and focused tests. Output: a small service and facade flow with documented inputs, outputs and failure behaviour.
5. Catalogs, products and content
Work with product and content catalogs, versions and synchronization concepts. Examine categories, media, price and availability in the context of the storefront. Output: a teaching catalog with checks for visibility and a short explanation of synchronization dependencies.
6. Cart, checkout and order flow
Trace how a product becomes a cart entry and then an order. Discuss validation, recalculation, promotions and integration boundaries. Do not connect practice work to real payment or customer systems. Output: a documented checkout scenario including invalid and out-of-stock cases.
7. Commerce APIs and integration
Understand OCC API concepts, authorization, data mapping and failure handling. Discuss search indexing and integrations as separate responsibilities. Output: an API request collection and contract checks using approved development data, with no embedded secrets.
8. Testing, deployment readiness and capstone
Combine a catalog change, a service extension and an integration scenario. Review logs, configuration separation, compatibility and rollback considerations. Output: a small commerce feature with tests, a demonstration and a handover note. The exact deployment lab depends on licensed environment access.

Is Hybris now called SAP Commerce Cloud?
Hybris is a common legacy search term for the commerce platform. This course focuses on SAP Commerce Cloud and explains the terminology so that learners can read both older project material and current documentation.
Can I join without Java knowledge?
The developer syllabus assumes Java foundations. Start with Java and basic web-development concepts first if you cannot yet read classes, collections, exceptions and simple service code.
Will I learn ImpEx and FlexibleSearch?
Yes. You will use them for structured data handling and investigation, then validate the results against business expectations. Safe identifiers and understandable error handling are part of the exercises.
Is this the same as SAP C4C training?
No. SAP Sales or Service Cloud topics and SAP Commerce development are distinct paths. Tell the academy which product and job role you need before choosing a course.
Does the course include a SAP certification exam?
