Quick answer
A strong SailPoint resume is a one or two page, keyword-matched document that proves you can onboard applications, run aggregation and correlation, build roles, policies, certifications and joiner-mover-leaver workflows, and write rules in IdentityIQ or Identity Security Cloud, with numbers that show the result. In the 11 SailPoint and IAM job descriptions we read on 24 October 2026, the same skills came up again and again: IdentityIQ (IIQ) and Identity Security Cloud (ISC, also written IdentityNow or IDN), Java, BeanShell, connectors for Active Directory, LDAP, JDBC and web services, roles and SoD policies, access certifications, SQL, REST APIs and ServiceNow. Most of those listings asked for 3 or more years of experience, so freshers should aim their resume at IAM operations and support roles first.
- Structure: contact line, headline, summary, skills, experience, projects, certifications, education
- Length: one page for freshers, up to two pages with experience
- Bullets: action verb + what you did + tool or object + measurable result
- Keywords: write both "IdentityIQ" and "IIQ", and both "Identity Security Cloud (ISC)" and "IdentityNow"
- Honesty: label training and lab projects as projects, never as job experience
Key takeaways
- Recruiters scan for proof of hands-on work: applications onboarded, connectors configured, rules written, campaigns run and lifecycle events automated.
- Use the exact words in the job description. ATS filters and Naukri searches match keywords like "SailPoint IIQ", "BeanShell", "aggregation", "access certification" and "joiner mover leaver".
- Freshers win with an honest projects section, IAM basics, Java and SQL, and a target role such as IAM analyst or access management operations.
- SailPoint certifications appear as "good to have" in the JDs we read, never as mandatory, so list them clearly but let your project and work bullets carry the resume.
- Tailor one base resume into three versions (IIQ developer, ISC engineer, IAM operations) instead of sending one resume everywhere.
1. SailPoint resume at a glance
Short answer: Keep the resume in a fixed order, put the most job-relevant proof in the top half of page one, and change the headline, summary and skills order for each role family you apply to.
Use this table as your build sheet. It shows what each section should contain and how much space to give it.
2. What recruiters look for in a SailPoint resume
Short answer: Recruiters look for hands-on IdentityIQ or Identity Security Cloud work, Java and BeanShell, connector and application onboarding, roles and SoD policies, certifications, lifecycle events, and the years of experience the listing asks for.
We read 11 SailPoint and IAM job descriptions on 24 October 2026 from EY, Deloitte, PwC, Cognizant, UST, ICE, WSP and others (full detail in our SailPoint jobs in India guide). The themes below are what your resume must prove.
Three more patterns matter for how you write:
- Experience: almost every listing asked for 3 years or more; managers and architects asked for 7 to 15 years. No genuine 0 to 1 year SailPoint developer listing was found on Naukri or LinkedIn on 24 October 2026.
- Certification: SailPoint certification appeared only as "desirable" (EY) or "good to have" (PwC), never as a requirement.
- Education: listings said "Any Graduate" (PwC on Naukri), B.Tech/M.Tech/MS/MBA (Deloitte), a CS/IT bachelor's "or equivalent experience" (WSP), or "Graduate in any stream" with IT knowledge (ICE).
3. Know the product names before you write
Short answer: Write IdentityIQ (IIQ) for the self-managed product and Identity Security Cloud (ISC) for the SaaS product, and add "IdentityNow" next to ISC so both old and new keyword searches find you.
SailPoint has renamed its SaaS product twice. Identity Security Cloud (ISC, formerly IdentityNow, now sold as SailPoint Human Fabric within SailPoint Identity Security) is the cloud product. SailPoint's own Getting Started documentation now calls it "SailPoint Human Fabric" and says the docs cover Human Fabric and IdentityNow features (SailPoint, October 2026). Exams, release notes and Indian job posts still mostly say ISC or IdentityNow, so those are the words your resume needs.
IdentityIQ is SailPoint's self-managed product, run on-premises or customer-hosted. SailPoint announced IdentityIQ 9.0 on 6 October 2026 at its Navigate event, with time-based access for roles and entitlements, a rebuilt technical foundation, a refreshed UI and an automated upgrade tool (SailPoint, October 2026). On your resume, name the IIQ versions you actually worked on. Do not claim 9.0 experience unless you have it.
Why the keywords matter: on 24 October 2026, Naukri showed about 5,550 results for "sailpoint" across India, 796 for "sailpoint identityiq" and only 69 for "identitynow" (Naukri, October 2026). These are keyword-match counts, not open jobs, but they show how often IIQ wording appears and why ISC listings are easy to miss if you use only one name. Many ISC listings write "SailPoint ISC", "IdentityNow (ISC)" or PwC's "IDN/IIQ", so cover every spelling. Do the same for short forms: "joiner, mover, leaver (JML)" and "segregation of duties (SoD)".
4. The right resume structure, section by section
Short answer: Use a simple single-column layout with standard headings, a keyword-rich headline and summary, a grouped skills block, and experience bullets that start with verbs and end with results.
Follow this order. Each step tells you what to write and why.
- Contact line. Name, city, phone, professional email and LinkedIn URL. Skip your photo, date of birth and full address.
- Headline. One line with role, product and years. Use the same line as your Naukri resume headline and LinkedIn headline.
- Summary. Three to four lines: years, products, strongest skills and one result. Write it last, so it reflects your bullets.
- Skills. Grouped so a recruiter can scan them in five seconds. Section 7 gives a full list by level.
- Experience. Newest first: company, title, city, month and year, then 4 to 8 bullets. You can write "Client: a US bank" without naming the client.
- Projects. Essential for freshers and career switchers. Label training or lab work clearly.
- Certifications. Use the exact official name (see section 9).
- Education. Degree, branch, college, year. Add marks only if a listing asks.
For ATS software, keep one column, standard fonts and standard headings, with no tables, text boxes or skill bars inside the resume file. Save it as a PDF named like "Firstname-Lastname-SailPoint-Developer.pdf", and use the same dates and titles on your resume, Naukri and LinkedIn.
5. Headline and summary examples
Short answer: Your headline and summary should repeat the job title and three or four exact keywords from the listing, plus one concrete result.
Recruiters often see only your headline in Naukri and LinkedIn search results, so make it work like a job title. Headline examples:
- "IAM Analyst | SailPoint IIQ Operations | Active Directory, ServiceNow | 2 years"
- "SailPoint IdentityIQ Developer | 3 years | BeanShell, Java, JDBC, AD Connector"
- "SailPoint ISC (IdentityNow) Engineer | Sources, Transforms, Workflows, REST APIs"
- "Senior IGA Consultant | SailPoint IIQ and ISC | Roles, SoD, Certifications | 8 years"
Summary examples (all fictional):
- Fresher: "B.Tech (CSE) graduate preparing for IAM operations roles. Completed hands-on SailPoint IdentityIQ lab projects covering delimited and JDBC application onboarding, aggregation, correlation and a manager access certification. Comfortable with Java basics, SQL and Active Directory user and group administration."
- 3 years, IIQ developer: "SailPoint IdentityIQ developer with 3 years in IAM delivery for banking clients. Onboarded 25+ applications using AD, JDBC and delimited connectors, wrote BeanShell correlation and provisioning rules, and built joiner and leaver workflows that cut manual access tickets."
The numbers inside these samples are examples. Use your own, and only numbers you can explain in an interview.
6. The bullet formula and 40 SailPoint bullet examples
Short answer: Write each bullet as action verb + task + SailPoint object or tool + result, and group your bullets around onboarding, aggregation, certifications, lifecycle, rules, roles, ISC and support.
The formula: Verb + what you did + where or with what + outcome. For example, "Onboarded 12 JDBC applications into IdentityIQ with account and group aggregation, cutting manual access reconciliation for the audit team." If you cannot share a number, give a clear outcome such as "removed the need for manual weekly reports".
All 40 bullets below are fictional examples. Use one only if you really did that work and can walk an interviewer through it, and change the numbers and tools to match.
Application onboarding and connectors
- Onboarded 18 applications into SailPoint IdentityIQ using Active Directory, JDBC and delimited file connectors, covering about 9,000 identities.
- Configured the Active Directory connector for account and group aggregation, provisioning and de-provisioning across three domains.
- Built a JDBC application definition with custom SQL queries to read accounts and entitlements from an Oracle database.
- Onboarded a legacy HR system through a delimited (CSV) connector and set it as the authoritative source for new identities.
- Wrote the application onboarding checklist used by the team, cutting average onboarding time from three weeks to ten days.
Aggregation and correlation
6. Scheduled and tuned Account Aggregation and Account Group Aggregation tasks so daily runs finished before business hours.
7. Configured correlation by employee ID with a fallback on email, raising correlated accounts from 82% to 97%.
8. Wrote a BeanShell correlation rule to match contractor accounts that used a different ID format.
9. Cleared over 1,200 uncorrelated and orphan accounts by manual correlation and owner confirmation before an audit.
10. Mapped identity attributes (department, manager, location, status) from the HR source to drive lifecycle and role logic.
Access certifications and reviews
11. Configured quarterly Manager and Application Owner certifications covering 40 applications and about 6,000 users.
12. Set up a Targeted certification for privileged entitlements with automatic revocation of items reviewers rejected.
13. Tracked campaign progress, sent reminders and escalations, and lifted on-time completion from 70% to 95%.
14. Prepared audit evidence from certification reports for internal and external auditors.
15. Designed an event-based certification triggered by a department change so movers' old access was reviewed within days.
Lifecycle (joiner, mover, leaver) workflows
16. Built a joiner workflow in IdentityIQ that created AD and email accounts with birthright access on the hire date.
17. Automated leaver processing to disable accounts and remove entitlements within hours of termination in HR.
18. Configured mover logic so role changes added new access and opened a review of old access.
19. Integrated Lifecycle Manager access requests with ServiceNow so request status synced both ways.
20. Troubleshot failed provisioning in workflows and reduced lifecycle tickets reaching L3 support.
Rules and BeanShell
21. Wrote BeanShell connector, aggregation, correlation and provisioning rules to handle non-standard source data.
22. Created a rule library of reusable methods called by several workflows, removing duplicate code.
23. Developed a provisioning rule to generate unique usernames and handle collisions.
24. Wrote an aggregation rule to clean and normalise attribute values from a source.
25. Reviewed and refactored rules to follow team coding standards and added logging for faster debugging.
Roles, policies and SoD
26. Designed business and IT roles for the finance department, linking business roles to IT roles through required and permitted lists.
27. Built Role SOD and Entitlement SOD policies for SAP and finance applications and reported violations to owners.
28. Mined existing access with role owners to replace 300 direct entitlement grants with 25 roles.
29. Configured an Account policy to flag users holding more than one account on the same application.
30. Reduced open SoD violations by 60% in two quarters through cleanup with business owners.
Identity Security Cloud (ISC): sources, transforms, APIs
31. Configured Workday as an authoritative source with an identity profile in Identity Security Cloud (IdentityNow).
32. Deployed and maintained a virtual appliance cluster to connect ISC to on-premises Active Directory and databases.
33. Wrote JSON transforms (lower, concat and conditional logic) to build usernames and email addresses during aggregation.
34. Built access profiles and standard roles for 15 sources so new joiners received birthright access automatically.
35. Automated access-request and notification steps with ISC workflows and called the ISC REST APIs from Postman and Python scripts.
Support, operations and upgrades
36. Handled 150+ monthly ServiceNow tickets for access issues, aggregation failures and provisioning errors within SLA.
37. Ran daily health checks on IdentityIQ tasks, logs and server resources, and raised incidents before users noticed issues.
38. Supported an IdentityIQ version upgrade across dev, test and production, including regression testing and rollback planning.
39. Promoted configuration between environments using XML exports and a version-controlled build process with Git and Jenkins.
40. Wrote runbooks for aggregation failures and certification issues used by a 6-member operations team.
7. Skills section by level
Short answer: List skills in groups, put the skills from the target JD first, and only list tools you can discuss for at least five minutes.
The terms below come straight from the JDs we read and from SailPoint's own product and documentation pages. Quick jargon guide: IAM (identity and access management) is the broad field of who can log in and what they can reach; IGA (identity governance and administration) is the governance part, meaning reviews, roles, policies and audit; PAM (privileged access management) protects admin accounts; provisioning means creating or changing accounts and access; an entitlement is a single permission such as a group membership; a connector is the integration that reads from or writes to a target system.
On the resume itself, write skills as short grouped lines, for example "SailPoint: IdentityIQ (IIQ), Lifecycle Manager, BeanShell rules, workflows, certifications, SoD policies", then "Connectors", "Languages" and "Tools" lines in the same style.
8. ATS keyword list from Indian SailPoint JDs
Short answer: Copy the exact keywords from the listing you are applying to; the list below covers the terms that appeared across the 11 JDs we read on 24 October 2026.
ATS (applicant tracking system) software ranks resumes by how well they match the job text. Recruiters on Naukri also search by keyword. Pick the terms that are true for you and use them naturally inside bullets, not as a pasted block.
To tailor quickly, highlight every tool and skill in the JD and make sure each one you genuinely have appears at least once in your summary, skills or bullets.
9. Projects and certifications sections
Short answer: Show projects with tools, steps and outcomes, label lab work honestly, and write SailPoint certifications with their exact current names.
How to write the projects section
Projects are your strongest proof if you have little or no IAM job experience. Write each one like a mini job: name, tools, what you built, and what it shows. Always label the context, such as "Training project" or "Home lab", so nobody mistakes it for client work.
A fictional example you can model:
- Project: HR-to-AD joiner and leaver automation (training project, IdentityIQ lab)
- Onboarded an HR delimited file as the authoritative source and an Active Directory test domain as a target application.
- Configured aggregation, identity attribute mapping and correlation by employee ID.
- Built a joiner flow that created AD accounts with department-based birthright groups, and a leaver flow that disabled accounts.
- Ran a manager access certification on the test users and verified revocations were provisioned.
Other good ideas: JDBC application onboarding, a role and SoD model for a fictional finance team, a BeanShell correlation rule for messy data, and an ISC transform that builds usernames. Our SailPoint roadmap describes three portfolio projects with deliverables in detail.
How to write the certifications section
SailPoint's certification program page (last updated 23 September 2026) lists seven current credentials (SailPoint, October 2026):
How to list them:
- Write the exact name, the year earned and, for role-based ones, the expiry year. SailPoint now issues Credly badges, so add your badge link.
- Do not list old names such as "IdentityIQ Architect" or "IdentityNow Engineer" as if they were current certifications. Some job posts still use these old names, but the current program does not include them.
- If you are preparing, write "SailPoint Certified IdentityIQ Associate (in progress, expected March 2027)" only if you are actually enrolled.
- List Identity University courses you completed under "Training", separate from certifications.
On cost, the program page says training-based exams are free with the matching training path, or 2 training units (about $200 USD) bought standalone; role-based exam prices are shown on Identity University at checkout. See our SailPoint certification guide for exam formats, domains and which one to pick.

11. Switching from support, AD admin or testing to SailPoint
Short answer: Reframe your current work in IAM terms, add one or two honest SailPoint projects, and target IAM operations roles where your support or AD background already fits.
Service desk staff, Active Directory admins, testers and Java developers often move into IAM. Your resume should translate that work into identity language:
Then add a projects section with one IIQ lab project and, if you can, one ISC transform or workflow exercise. Set your headline to the role you can get next, such as "IAM Analyst" or "SailPoint Operations Engineer", not "SailPoint Architect".
For freshers, be honest about the market. On 24 October 2026 we found no SailPoint developer listing on Naukri or LinkedIn that truly accepted 0 years' experience; junior entry points were IAM operations, access management and support roles, most still asking for 1 to 3 years or more. A clear, honest resume aimed at those roles is your best first step.
12. Common SailPoint resume mistakes
Short answer: The biggest mistakes are vague bullets, keyword stuffing, claiming training projects as job experience, wrong certification names and one generic resume for every role.
- Vague bullets. "Worked on SailPoint" tells a recruiter nothing. Name the connector, rule, workflow or campaign and the result.
- Fake experience. Listing a training project as a client job is easy to expose in a technical round and can cost you the offer during background checks.
- Wrong product names. Writing only "IdentityNow" or only "ISC" can hide you from half the searches. Use both.
- Old or invented certification names. "IdentityIQ Architect" is not a current SailPoint certification. Use the seven current names.
- Skill dumps. Thirty tools with no proof in the bullets looks like stuffing. Every key skill should appear in at least one bullet.
- Claiming versions you did not use. Say "IdentityIQ 8.x" only if true, and do not claim IIQ 9.0 work unless you had it.
- Ignoring years asked. If a listing asks for 3 to 8 years and you have one, spend your effort on IAM analyst and operations listings instead.
- Fancy templates and mismatched profiles. Two columns and skill bars confuse ATS software, and different dates on Naukri, LinkedIn and your resume raise doubts.
- No numbers. Applications onboarded, identities covered, campaigns run and tickets closed make your work concrete.
Once you are shortlisted, prepare for the technical round. Our existing SailPoint interview questions and answers page has about 60 questions, many on IdentityIQ concepts, to practise with.
13. Short cover letter sample
Short answer: Keep the cover letter to about 150 words: the role, why you fit in two or three proof points, and a polite close.
Most Indian portals do not require a cover letter, but a short note helps in email applications, referrals and LinkedIn messages. Here is a fictional sample for an IIQ developer role:
"Dear Hiring Team,
I am applying for the SailPoint IdentityIQ Developer role in Hyderabad. I have 3 years of IAM delivery experience, mainly on IdentityIQ for banking clients.
In my current role I onboarded 25+ applications using Active Directory, JDBC and delimited connectors, wrote BeanShell correlation and provisioning rules, and built joiner and leaver workflows integrated with ServiceNow. I also supported quarterly manager certifications and SoD policy reporting for audit.
Your listing asks for IIQ development, Java and lifecycle automation, which matches the work I do every day. I would welcome a chance to discuss how I can help your team.
Thank you for your time.
Sneha Reddy"

Frequently asked questions
How do I write a SailPoint developer resume?
Start with a headline that names the role, product and years, then a short summary, a grouped skills section, experience bullets and projects. Each bullet should follow the formula of action verb, task, SailPoint object or tool, and result, such as applications onboarded or rules written. Use the exact keywords from the job description, including IdentityIQ, IIQ, BeanShell, connectors, certifications and joiner mover leaver, and keep the layout simple and single column.
What skills should I put on a SailPoint resume?
Put the skills the job description names first. Common ones are IdentityIQ or Identity Security Cloud, Java, BeanShell, SQL, REST APIs, application onboarding with Active Directory, LDAP and JDBC connectors, rules, workflows, roles, SoD policies, access certifications and ServiceNow integration. Group them into SailPoint, IAM concepts, languages, platforms and tools, and list only skills you can explain in detail during an interview.
How long should a SailPoint resume be?
Keep it to one page if you have under 3 years of experience, and up to two pages if you have more. Recruiters scan the top half of page one first, so put your headline, summary, key skills and best IAM bullets there. Cut unrelated school details, long objective statements and generic soft-skill lists to make room for concrete SailPoint work and projects.
How do I write a SailPoint resume as a fresher?
Lead with an honest headline such as aspiring IAM analyst, then a summary of your degree, IAM basics, Java and SQL. Add a projects section with two or three clearly labelled lab or training projects, such as HR-to-AD joiner automation or a certification campaign. Target IAM operations and support roles, because we found no SailPoint developer listing that truly accepted 0 years of experience on 24 October 2026.
Can freshers get SailPoint developer jobs directly?
It is rare. In the listings we checked on Naukri and LinkedIn on 24 October 2026, almost every SailPoint role asked for 3 or more years, and no genuine 0 to 1 year SailPoint developer listing was found. Freshers usually start in IAM operations, access management or support roles, build experience with SailPoint there, and then move into developer roles after one to three years.
What are strong SailPoint IIQ resume bullet points?
Strong IIQ bullets name a specific object and a result. Examples include onboarding applications with Active Directory, JDBC and delimited connectors, writing BeanShell correlation or provisioning rules, building joiner and leaver workflows, configuring manager certifications, and creating Role SOD and Entitlement SOD policies. Add numbers such as applications onboarded, identities covered or completion rates, and only use bullets you can explain step by step.
How should an ISC resume differ from an IIQ resume?
An Identity Security Cloud resume should highlight sources, identity profiles, the virtual appliance, JSON transforms, access profiles, roles, ISC workflows and REST APIs. An IdentityIQ resume leans on BeanShell rules, Java, IIQ workflows, Lifecycle Manager, Compliance Manager and on-premises deployment work. Write IdentityNow next to ISC on an ISC resume, because many job posts still use the older name or the short form IDN.
What ATS keywords do SailPoint job descriptions use?
Common keywords in the JDs we read include SailPoint, IdentityIQ, IIQ, IdentityNow, ISC, Lifecycle Manager, Compliance Manager, BeanShell, Java, SQL, REST APIs, connectors, Active Directory, LDAP, Workday, SAP, ServiceNow, roles, RBAC, SoD, access certification, access reviews, provisioning, joiner mover leaver, SSO, OAuth, UAT and hypercare. Use only those that are true for you, inside real bullets.
Should I list SailPoint certification on my resume?
Yes, list it with the exact official name, year earned and expiry year for role-based certifications, plus your Credly badge link. The job descriptions we read listed SailPoint certification only as desirable or good to have, never as required. So treat it as a useful extra that supports your project and work bullets, not as a replacement for hands-on experience.
Which SailPoint certification names are current?
SailPoint's program page lists seven credentials. The role-based ones are SailPoint Certified Identity Security Administrator, SailPoint Certified Identity Security Engineer and SailPoint Certified IdentityIQ Engineer, each valid for two years. The training-based ones are the Identity Security Leader Credential, Identity Security Professional, Identity Security Expert and SailPoint Certified IdentityIQ Associate, which do not expire. Old names like IdentityIQ Architect are not current certifications.
Can I mention a certification I am still preparing for?
Yes, but only if you are actually enrolled or booked, and label it clearly, for example as in progress with an expected month. Never write it as earned. Interviewers and background checks can verify SailPoint credentials through Credly badges, so an honest in-progress line is fine, while a false claim can end your application even after an offer.
Is it okay to show training projects on a SailPoint resume?
Yes, and for freshers and career switchers it is the best proof you have. Put them under a Projects heading and label each one as a training project or home lab, never as client experience. Describe the tools, steps and outcome, such as onboarding an HR file as an authoritative source and building joiner and leaver flows, so the interviewer can ask about them.
What projects can I put on a SailPoint resume?
Good projects map to skills in job descriptions. Try HR-to-Active Directory joiner and leaver automation, JDBC application onboarding with aggregation and correlation, a role and SoD policy model for a fictional finance team, a manager certification campaign with revocation, a BeanShell correlation rule for messy data, and an Identity Security Cloud transform that builds usernames. Label each one as a training or lab project.
How do I show connector, rule and workflow work on a resume?
Name the exact type and the result in each bullet. For connectors, say which ones, such as Active Directory, JDBC or delimited file, and how many applications you onboarded. For rules, name the rule type, such as connector, aggregation, correlation or provisioning, and what it fixed. For workflows, describe the lifecycle event it automated, such as joiner or leaver, and the time or tickets saved.
How do I quantify achievements on a SailPoint resume?
Count what you touched and what improved. Useful numbers include applications onboarded, identities or users covered, certification campaigns run, completion rates, orphan accounts cleaned, SoD violations reduced, tickets handled per month and onboarding time saved. If you cannot share exact figures, use approximate ones you can defend, or describe a clear outcome such as removing a manual weekly report.
What is a good SailPoint resume summary for 3 years' experience?
A good summary states your years, product, strongest skills and one result in three or four lines. For example, you might say you are an IdentityIQ developer with 3 years in IAM delivery for banking clients, that you onboarded more than 25 applications with AD, JDBC and delimited connectors, wrote BeanShell rules and built joiner and leaver workflows. Write it after your bullets so it matches them.
How do I write a SailPoint admin or operations resume?
Focus on running and supporting the platform. Highlight certification campaign support, manual correlation, orphan account cleanup, access request fulfilment, provisioning troubleshooting, daily health checks, incident handling within SLA, audit evidence and upgrade support. Name tools such as ServiceNow, Active Directory, Entra ID and PowerShell. Operations roles at managed services teams and global capability centres are a realistic first step for juniors.
How do I convert a support or testing resume into a SailPoint resume?
Rewrite your current tasks in identity terms. Creating AD users becomes user provisioning, disabling leavers becomes de-provisioning, access tickets become access request fulfilment, and audit user lists become access review support. Testers can highlight test case design, UAT and regression testing, which IAM delivery teams need. Then add one or two honest SailPoint lab projects and target IAM analyst or operations roles first.
Should I write IdentityNow or Identity Security Cloud on my resume?
Write both. Identity Security Cloud, or ISC, is the current product name in exams and documentation, and SailPoint now sells it as Human Fabric within SailPoint Identity Security, but many Indian job posts still say IdentityNow or IDN. On 24 October 2026 Naukri showed only 69 results for identitynow against 796 for sailpoint identityiq, so cover every spelling recruiters might search.
Should I mention IdentityIQ 9.0 on my resume?
Only if you have actually worked on it. SailPoint announced IdentityIQ 9.0 on 6 October 2026, so few people have real project experience with it yet. Name the IdentityIQ versions you genuinely used, such as 8.x, and be ready to explain your work on them. You can mention that you are following the 9.0 changes in your interview, not as a resume claim.
What resume format works best for Naukri and LinkedIn?
A simple single-column PDF with standard headings works best for Naukri, LinkedIn and ATS software. Avoid tables, text boxes, icons, photos and skill bars, which parsers often misread. Use the same headline on your resume, Naukri resume headline and LinkedIn headline, and keep titles and dates identical across all three so recruiters see one consistent story.
Do I need a cover letter for SailPoint jobs?
Usually not for portal applications in India, but a short note helps in email applications, referrals and LinkedIn messages. Keep it to about 150 words: name the role, give two or three proof points such as applications onboarded or rules written, link them to what the listing asks for, and close politely. Never repeat your whole resume in the letter.
What education do SailPoint job descriptions ask for?
The listings we read on 24 October 2026 varied. PwC on Naukri said any graduate, Deloitte named B.Tech, M.Tech, MS or MBA, WSP asked for a CS or IT bachelor's or equivalent experience, and ICE asked for a graduate in any stream with IT knowledge. So B.Tech, BCA, MCA and other graduates can apply if their resume shows the right IAM skills.
What are common SailPoint resume mistakes?
The most common mistakes are vague bullets like worked on SailPoint, listing training projects as client jobs, using only one product name, writing old certification names such as IdentityIQ Architect, dumping skills with no proof, claiming versions you never used, using fancy two-column templates and sending one generic resume to every role. Each one either fails ATS filters or falls apart in the technical interview.
