Quick answer
SailPoint jobs are identity security roles where you build, run or support SailPoint IdentityIQ or Identity Security Cloud so that the right people get the right access to company systems, and lose it when they leave. On 24 October 2026, Naukri showed about 5,550 results for "sailpoint" across India, led by Bengaluru (1,866), Hyderabad (934) and Pune (762). These are keyword matches, not a count of open SailPoint jobs, but they show steady demand from Big Four firms, IT services companies, global capability centres (GCCs) and IAM specialist firms. Most listings ask for 3 or more years of experience.
- Common titles: SailPoint developer (IIQ or ISC), IAM engineer, IAM analyst, SailPoint operations or support engineer, IAM consultant, SailPoint architect
- Who had listings: EY, Deloitte, PwC, Cognizant, TCS, Accenture, Wipro, UST and GCCs such as LPL Financial, Chubb and PepsiCo (listings seen 24 October 2026)
- Typical pay: AmbitionBox showed ₹7.6 to 8.4 lakh a year for SailPoint developers with 1 to 6 years' experience in India (October 2026)
- Work pattern: mostly work from office or hybrid; fully remote roles are rare and usually senior contracts
- Fresher reality: we found no genuine 0-year SailPoint developer listing; freshers usually start in IAM operations, access management or support roles
Key takeaways
- Job portal numbers are keyword matches that include duplicates, agency re-posts and loosely related security roles, so use them to compare cities, not to count vacancies.
- Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune and Chennai lead SailPoint listings, and the same Big Four postings repeat across several cities.
- IdentityIQ, Java, BeanShell, connectors, access certifications and joiner-mover-leaver work appear again and again in the job descriptions we read.
- SailPoint certification shows up only as "desirable" or "good to have" in those job descriptions, never as a must.
- The realistic first step for a fresher is an IAM operations or access-management role, then a move into SailPoint development after 1 to 3 years.
1. SailPoint jobs at a glance
Short answer: SailPoint work splits into two families: implementation and development roles that build the system, and operations and support roles that keep it running every day.
Use this table as your map. The experience column shows what the listings we read on 24 October 2026 asked for, not a rule.
The usual path runs from IAM analyst or operations, to SailPoint developer or IAM engineer, to consultant, architect or manager. For the learning sequence behind that path, read our SailPoint roadmap. This page stays on finding and winning the job.
2. SailPoint job market snapshot: counts by city (24 October 2026)
Short answer: On 24 October 2026, Naukri showed about 5,550 results for "sailpoint" in India and LinkedIn showed 4,000+, with Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Pune at the top; these are keyword-match counts, not open SailPoint jobs.
We searched Naukri and LinkedIn's public job search while logged out on 24 October 2026. For Naukri we noted the "1 - 20 of N" line. LinkedIn rounds big numbers, so it shows "1,000+" rather than an exact figure.
Hyderabad has its own guide. Our post on SailPoint jobs in Hyderabad covers local employers, Hyderabad JDs and a 12-week plan.
Other searches on Naukri the same day help you see the wider identity market:
How to read these numbers:
- They overlap. The same EY and Deloitte postings list Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai and Pune together, so they appear in several city searches.
- They include re-posts. Agencies such as Consult Asia, Orcapod, Conqueri and Tekskills re-post client roles, so one job can appear several times.
- They include loosely related roles. Some results are general security jobs where SailPoint is one skill among many. "sailpoint developer" even showed more results (6,408) than "sailpoint" because Naukri also matched the word "developer".
- They include SailPoint the company. On LinkedIn the keyword also returns SailPoint's own jobs, such as a Salesforce solution architect role, which are not SailPoint-skill jobs.
Our honest reading: SailPoint skills are in steady demand across India's big tech cities, with Bengaluru clearly ahead, but the real number of SailPoint-specific openings on any day is much smaller than the headline counts.
3. IdentityIQ or Identity Security Cloud: which do job posts ask for?
Short answer: Most Indian listings still name IdentityIQ, but many senior and consulting roles now ask for Identity Security Cloud (ISC) too, so knowing both widens your options.
SailPoint has two main products you will see in job titles:
- IdentityIQ (IIQ): SailPoint's self-managed product, installed on the customer's own servers or cloud. It is a Java web application, and you customise it with rules written in BeanShell, a Java-like scripting language. SailPoint announced IdentityIQ 9.0 on 6 October 2026, so the product is still moving forward.
- Identity Security Cloud (ISC): the SaaS product, formerly IdentityNow, now sold as SailPoint Human Fabric within the SailPoint Identity Security platform. Job posts and exams still call it ISC or IdentityNow (IDN). In ISC you connect on-premises systems through a virtual appliance, a small machine SailPoint provides that links your network to the cloud tenant without opening your firewall.
On 24 October 2026, Naukri showed 796 results for "sailpoint identityiq" but only 69 for "identitynow". That gap is real but exaggerated, because many cloud listings write "SailPoint ISC" or "IDN" instead. In the listings we saw, titles split both ways: EY had both "SailPoint IIQ-Senior" and "SailPoint ISC-Senior" roles in Hyderabad, Deloitte advertised "SailPoint ISC Consultant" roles, PwC asked for "Sailpoint Developer IDN/IIQ", and Unisys, Cyderes, Simeio and Bahwan CyberTek had ISC-titled roles.
What this means for you: start with IdentityIQ because it teaches the core ideas in depth, then learn the ISC equivalents (sources, identity profiles, access profiles, transforms and workflows) so you can apply for both kinds of listing.
4. SailPoint job titles and what each one does
Short answer: The title tells you the level and the type of work: analysts and operations engineers run the system, developers and engineers build it, and consultants and architects design it for clients.
First, the words you will see in almost every SailPoint job description:
- IAM (Identity and Access Management): the broad practice of managing user identities and what they can access
- IGA (Identity Governance and Administration): the governance part of IAM, making sure access is right, reviewed and audited; SailPoint is an IGA product
- PAM (Privileged Access Management): controlling powerful admin accounts, the space of tools such as CyberArk
- SSO and MFA: single sign-on (one login for many apps) and multi-factor authentication (a second check, such as an OTP)
- Provisioning and de-provisioning: creating and removing accounts and access in target systems
- Aggregation: reading account data from a system into SailPoint
- Correlation: matching each account to the right person (identity)
- Entitlement: a single piece of access, such as an AD group or an SAP role
- Role: a bundle of entitlements given to people who do the same job
- Access certification: a review campaign where managers approve or revoke their team's access
- SoD (Separation of Duties): a policy that stops one person holding two risky access rights together, such as raising and approving a payment
- JML (joiner-mover-leaver): the lifecycle events when someone joins, changes jobs or leaves
- Connector: the adapter SailPoint uses to talk to a system such as Active Directory, a database or Workday
Now the titles, each with an example of a listing we saw on 24 October 2026.
IAM analyst and access management operations
You handle the daily flow of access work. UST's "IAM Analyst - SailPoint IIQ" role in Bengaluru described fixing orphan accounts (accounts with no owner), manual correlation in IdentityIQ, removing access for terminated users, entitlement-owner reviews, ServiceNow tickets and audit evidence. ICE's "Analyst I, Identity and Access Management" role in Hyderabad listed provisioning, Active Directory administration and access reviews using SailPoint, Active Directory and ServiceNow.
SailPoint operations, admin and support engineer
These "sailpoint support jobs" and "sailpoint admin jobs" keep the platform running. WSP in India's "Senior Analyst - SailPoint IIQ Operations" role in Noida and Gurugram asked you to run and tune IdentityIQ, troubleshoot joiner-mover-leaver issues and script in PowerShell, Python and BeanShell. EY's managed services "GMS-Staff-UAR - IGA" role in Hyderabad covered health checks, incident support and upgrades. RNS Technology Services listed a "Support Lead - Identity SailPoint L3" role, and KeyData Cyber a "Senior SailPoint Support Engineer" in Bengaluru.
SailPoint developer (IIQ or ISC)
This is the title most people search for. PwC's Naukri listing asked for native connectors and custom API onboarding, connector, aggregation and provisioning rules, lifecycle events, custom tasks and reports, roles, SoD policies, certifications and ServiceNow integration, with Java. EY's IIQ senior role added custom workflows, Lifecycle Manager and Compliance Manager setup, and CI/CD with GitHub and Jenkins.
IAM engineer and IGA engineer
Engineers own the wider identity platform, not just SailPoint. Listings included Providence India's "Sr. IAM Engineer" and Chubb's "IGA Engineering Lead" in Hyderabad, and Unisys's "IAM SailPoint ISC Engineer" in Bengaluru.
SailPoint testing and QA
"Sailpoint testing jobs" exist but are few. First Citizens India listed a "Principal Information Security Engineer - IAM (Quality Assurance/SailPoint Testing)" role in Bengaluru. Testers who learn IAM can aim at these.
IAM consultant and senior consultant
Consultants work on client projects. Deloitte's "SailPoint ISC Consultant" role asked for at least 2 full IAM implementations, and Optiv's "Sr. Consultant - SailPoint" role in Bengaluru asked for 10 to 15 years on Naukri.
SailPoint architect and IAM manager
Architects design the solution and lead delivery. TCS listed a "Sailpoint Architect" role (7 to 10 years) for Hyderabad, Kolkata and Bengaluru, Persistent Systems a "Sail Point Architect" in Pune, Simeio an "Identity Architect - SailPoint ISC", and Kroll a "Senior Manager - IGA Architect". At the top, LPL Financial's GCC in Hyderabad listed a "VP IAM Engineering - IGA" role.
5. Who hires for SailPoint jobs in India
Short answer: Five kinds of employers had SailPoint or IAM listings in October 2026: Big Four consulting firms, IT services companies, GCCs of global banks and enterprises, IAM specialist firms, and SailPoint itself.
All names below come from listings we saw on 24 October 2026 on Naukri and LinkedIn. A listing is not a hiring promise, and many postings repeat across cities.
A few notes so you read this table correctly:
- Accenture had many security roles that matched a SailPoint search, such as "Security Managed Services Practitioner" and "Security Architect". SailPoint is one of several listed skills in many of them, so do not assume each is a SailPoint role.
- Coforge had a "Sailpoint Developer" role (hybrid, Gurugram) that we saw only in a similar-jobs panel and an AmbitionBox job card, not as a full listing.
- Not seen in this pass: we did not find SailPoint listings on 24 October 2026 from KPMG, Infosys, HCLTech, Tech Mahindra, LTIMindtree or Capgemini. That does not mean they never hire; it means we could not confirm a listing that day.
- Saviynt is a competing IGA vendor. Its listings are for its own product, though some of its support roles list SailPoint as a related skill.
6. Jobs at SailPoint the company vs SailPoint-skill jobs
Short answer: "Jobs at SailPoint" means working for the vendor itself, mostly in product engineering, while most "SailPoint jobs" are roles at other companies that use or implement SailPoint.
SailPoint is an Austin, Texas-based identity security company. Its official careers page lists India as one of the locations in its job filter, with roles on a Workday board (SailPoint, October 2026). On LinkedIn on 24 October 2026, SailPoint itself had listings in Pune for a Solution Architect, Senior Software Engineer, Staff Software Engineer (Java/Golang), Manager of Engineering, Senior Demo Engineer and Senior Product Manager. We did not see any SailPoint-company listing in Hyderabad.
The difference matters for how you prepare:
Pay at the vendor is also different. AmbitionBox's SailPoint Technologies page showed product engineering roles such as Senior Software Engineer at ₹30.9 to 36.1 lakh a year (52 salaries, 5 to 10 years, October 2026). These are software engineering salaries at the vendor, not SailPoint developer salaries at implementation firms, so do not compare them directly.
7. Skills and tools SailPoint job descriptions ask for
Short answer: Almost every SailPoint job description asks for hands-on IdentityIQ or ISC work, Java, connectors and application onboarding, access certifications and joiner-mover-leaver lifecycle work, with BeanShell, ServiceNow and REST APIs close behind.
We read 11 job descriptions in full on 24 October 2026, from EY (two), Deloitte (two), PwC (two), Cognizant (two), UST, ICE and WSP in India. The table shows how many of those 11 named each skill, by our own count. It is a small sample, so read it as a pattern, not a statistic.
Skills seen once or twice: CI/CD with GitHub and Jenkins (EY), PowerShell and Python (WSP), Power BI (ICE), and other IGA tools such as Saviynt or Oracle Identity Manager as alternatives (EY, Deloitte). PwC's senior role also expected technical designs, test cases, user acceptance testing (UAT) support and hypercare after go-live.
The takeaway: if you can onboard an Active Directory and a database application, write a simple aggregation or provisioning rule, run a certification campaign and explain joiner-mover-leaver flows in an interview, you match the core of most SailPoint developer JDs.
8. Experience levels: where freshers fit
Short answer: On 24 October 2026 we found no SailPoint developer listing on Naukri or LinkedIn that genuinely accepted 0 years' experience; junior entry points were IAM operations, access management and support roles, most still asking for 1 to 3 years or more.
This is the most searched question about "sailpoint jobs for freshers", so here is the honest picture.
- Naukri's "sailpoint fresher" search showed 0 results on 24 October 2026.
- A search for SailPoint roles open to 0 years' experience on Naukri on 24 October 2026 returned 133 results, but most were not SailPoint jobs. Page one was mostly Android, .NET and other developer roles.
- Some listings carry a misleading tag. A Saviynt "Technical Support Engineer" role in Bengaluru was tagged "0 years" on Naukri, but its JD asked for at least 3 years of IGA implementation experience. Always read the JD, not the tag.
- LinkedIn marked UST's "IAM Analyst - SailPoint IIQ" role as "Entry level", but the text asked for an experienced IAM analyst.
Experience bands we saw in real listings:
So how do freshers get in? These are the realistic routes:
- IAM operations or access management. Titles such as Access Management Operations (EY, Hyderabad), Associate IAM Analyst (Revantage, Bengaluru) and Associate Specialist - IAM (Linde, Kolkata) were the most junior-leaning identity roles we saw.
- Service desk or Active Directory admin. Many IAM analysts start by creating AD accounts and resetting access, then move to SailPoint once they understand the process.
- Adjacent security roles. Arrow Electronics advertised a 0 to 1 year "IT Security Associate - Governance, Compliance and Risk" apprenticeship in Bengaluru for recent graduates. It is not a SailPoint role, but it gets you into security.
- Campus hiring. PwC's JD mentions seniors mentoring "campus grads and juniors", which suggests campus intake into these teams, though we saw no fresher SailPoint listing.
- Returnships. If you are coming back after a career break with SailPoint experience, Cognizant listed a "Returnship - IAM SailPoint Developer Engineer" role in Bengaluru.
Education asked for was broad: "Any Graduate" (PwC), "Graduate in any stream" with IT knowledge (ICE), B.Tech, M.Tech, MS or MBA (Deloitte), and a CS or IT bachelor's "or equivalent experience" (WSP). B.Tech, BCA, MCA and B.Sc graduates with IT skills can all target these roles.
9. Work modes, shifts, remote and contract jobs
Short answer: Most SailPoint jobs in India are work from office or hybrid; fully remote roles are rare and usually senior contracts, and some roles follow US-aligned or rotational shifts.
Naukri's own filters on the Hyderabad "sailpoint" page on 24 October 2026 showed 837 of 934 results as "Work from office", 86 as hybrid and only 11 as remote. That gives you a fair idea of the national pattern too.
What the listings we read said about timing and mode:
- Hybrid: PwC's "Sailpoint Developer" roles were hybrid across Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai and Delhi NCR.
- Day shift with late finish: Deloitte's ISC Consultant role stated "11 AM to 8 PM".
- US shift: a separate Deloitte ISC posting in Hyderabad stated "US Shift".
- Rotational: ICE's IAM analyst role asked for flexibility to work in "17x5 rotational shifts".
- On call: EY's managed services IGA role asked for willingness to be on call and work occasional overtime.
Night shifts are not typical across the board, but support and managed services roles are more likely to include rotational or on-call work than development roles.
Remote and work from home. People search "sailpoint jobs work from home" a lot, but true remote roles were scarce. The clearest example we saw was World Wide Technology's "SailPoint Developer _ Long Term - Remote - Contract" role, which asked for 8 to 12 years.
Contract and freelance. Contract roles do exist, mostly through IT staffing firms and specialist consultancies, and mostly for experienced developers. Freelance SailPoint work is usually open only to people with several years of hands-on delivery, because clients hand you access to their identity systems.
10. Do SailPoint jobs need certification?
Short answer: No. In the job descriptions we read, SailPoint certification was listed only as "desirable" or "good to have"; hands-on experience mattered far more.
EY's IdentityIQ senior role listed "SailPoint Certified IdentityIQ Engineer" as desirable, and PwC's Naukri listing called SailPoint certifications "good to have". Deloitte's ISC role listed "IAM technology certifications", PMP or CISSP as preferred. None of the 11 JDs made a SailPoint certification compulsory.
Some JDs still use old certification names such as "IdentityIQ Architect" or "IdentityNow Engineer". These are not in SailPoint's current program. SailPoint's certification program page lists seven current credentials (SailPoint, September 2026):
- Role-based certifications (valid two years): SailPoint Certified Identity Security Administrator, SailPoint Certified Identity Security Engineer and SailPoint Certified IdentityIQ Engineer
- Training-based credentials (do not expire): SailPoint Identity Security Leader Credential, SailPoint Identity Security Professional, SailPoint Identity Security Expert and SailPoint Certified IdentityIQ Associate
The same page says training-based exams are free with the matching training path, or cost 2 training units (about $200 USD) bought on their own. Role-based exam prices are shown on Identity University at checkout. Results are pass or fail only, with no published passing score.
A certification helps you stand out once you have some hands-on work to show, and the IdentityIQ Engineer exam recommends 1 to 3 years of implementation experience. For a fresher, a working lab project you can explain usually does more than a badge alone.
11. SailPoint salary snapshot
Short answer: AmbitionBox showed a typical range of ₹7.6 to 8.4 lakh a year for SailPoint developers in India with 1 to 6 years' experience, based on 562 salaries (updated 18 October 2026).
These are AmbitionBox "typical ranges" shown to logged-out users in October 2026. Read them as guides, not offers.
By experience, AmbitionBox showed about ₹5 to 5.6 lakh a year for SailPoint developers with 1 to 3 years and ₹8.4 to 9.2 lakh with 3 to 6 years in India (October 2026). There was no band for 0 to 1 year. Some listings also showed pay: a Virtusa SailPoint developer role posted by an agency showed ₹18 to 22.5 lakh a year for 7 to 11 years, and another agency card for a Cognizant-labelled role showed ₹20 to 30 lakh for 6 to 10 years.

12. How to apply for SailPoint jobs: a step-by-step plan
Short answer: Build one lab project, match your resume to JD keywords, search smart on Naukri and LinkedIn with the right titles, use referrals, and prepare for scenario questions on rules, connectors and joiner-mover-leaver flows.
Step 1: Pick your target role
Aim at IAM analyst or operations roles if you are a fresher or support engineer, and at SailPoint developer roles if you are a Java developer or have 1 to 3 years of IAM work.
Step 2: Build proof you can show
Recruiters want to see that you have touched the product. Build one end-to-end lab: onboard an HR file as an authoritative source, aggregate and correlate an Active Directory or database application, create a role, run a certification campaign and set up a joiner workflow. Learn access through SailPoint's official training or an authorised course, never through pirated builds.
Step 3: Write a keyword-matched resume
Use the exact words JDs use: IdentityIQ, ISC, connectors, aggregation, correlation, provisioning, BeanShell rules, workflows, certifications, SoD, joiner-mover-leaver, ServiceNow. Our SailPoint resume guide has sample resumes and bullet points for freshers and experienced developers.
Step 4: Search smarter
Do not search only "sailpoint". Add these titles and strings on Naukri and LinkedIn:
- Titles: IAM analyst, IAM engineer, IGA engineer, identity governance analyst, access management operations, SailPoint developer, SailPoint ISC engineer
- Boolean string on LinkedIn: "SailPoint" AND ("IdentityIQ" OR "IIQ")
- For cloud roles: "SailPoint" AND ("ISC" OR "IdentityNow" OR "IDN")
- Set daily job alerts for your city and for "iam" so you see new listings early
Step 5: Use referrals and specialist firms
Many Big Four and GCC roles fill through referrals. Connect with IAM professionals on LinkedIn, comment on SailPoint community posts and ask politely for referrals once you match a JD. Also watch IAM specialist firms such as Simeio, Optiv or KeyData Cyber, which hire for SailPoint skills directly.
When an agency calls, ask which client the role is for, confirm location and experience band, and never pay any fee to get a job.
Step 6: Prepare for interviews
Expect questions on the Identity Cube, aggregation vs correlation, rule types, role types, certification phases and how you would fix a failed leaver. Practise with our existing SailPoint interview questions page, which has about 60 questions on IdentityIQ concepts.

Frequently asked questions
What are SailPoint jobs?
SailPoint jobs are identity security roles where you build, run or support SailPoint IdentityIQ or Identity Security Cloud. The work makes sure people get the right access to company systems when they join, change roles or leave. Common titles include IAM analyst, SailPoint operations engineer, SailPoint developer, IAM engineer, IAM consultant and SailPoint architect, at Big Four firms, IT services companies, GCCs and IAM specialist firms.
How many SailPoint jobs are there in India?
On 24 October 2026, Naukri showed about 5,550 results for "sailpoint" across India and LinkedIn showed 4,000+. These are keyword-match counts, not open SailPoint jobs. They include duplicates, agency re-posts, multi-city postings and general security roles where SailPoint is only one skill. The real number of SailPoint-specific openings on any day is much smaller, but the counts show steady demand.
Which city has the most SailPoint jobs in India?
Bengaluru led on 24 October 2026, with about 1,866 Naukri results for "sailpoint" and 2,000+ on LinkedIn. Hyderabad followed with 934 Naukri results, then Pune with 762 and Chennai with 516. Mumbai, Noida and Gurugram had smaller counts. Many Big Four postings list several cities together, so the same job often appears in more than one city search.
Which companies hire SailPoint developers in India?
On 24 October 2026 we saw SailPoint or IAM listings from EY, Deloitte, PwC, Cognizant, TCS, Accenture, Wipro, Virtusa, UST, Unisys and Persistent Systems, plus GCCs such as LPL Financial, Chubb, PepsiCo and Deutsche Bank. Specialist firms such as Optiv, Simeio and Cyderes also had listings. SailPoint itself had engineering and product listings in Pune. A listing is not a hiring promise.
Are there SailPoint jobs for freshers?
Very few. On 24 October 2026 we found no SailPoint developer listing on Naukri or LinkedIn that genuinely accepted 0 years' experience, and Naukri's "sailpoint fresher" search showed 0 results. Junior entry points were IAM operations, access management and support roles, and most still asked for 1 to 3 years or more. Freshers usually start in those roles and move into SailPoint development later.
How can I get a SailPoint job without experience?
Start with an IAM operations, access management, service desk or Active Directory role, where you learn how access works in a real company. At the same time, build one SailPoint lab project covering onboarding, aggregation, correlation, roles, a certification campaign and a joiner workflow. Put JD keywords in your resume, ask for referrals and apply for junior IAM roles, then move into SailPoint development after 1 to 3 years.
What does a SailPoint developer do?
A SailPoint developer onboards applications, configures connectors, writes rules for aggregation, correlation and provisioning, builds workflows for joiner-mover-leaver events, and sets up roles, SoD policies and certification campaigns. Job descriptions we read also mentioned custom reports, ServiceNow integration, technical design documents, test cases, UAT support and hypercare after go-live. Most developer listings asked for 3 to 8 years of experience.
What is the job description of a SailPoint administrator or support engineer?
A SailPoint administrator or support engineer keeps the platform healthy every day. Listings we read described running and tuning IdentityIQ, fixing joiner-mover-leaver failures, health checks, incident support, upgrades, ServiceNow tickets and audit evidence. Some asked for scripting in PowerShell, Python or BeanShell. Support and managed services roles are more likely than development roles to include rotational shifts or on-call work.
What experience do SailPoint jobs ask for?
Most SailPoint listings we read on 24 October 2026 asked for 3 or more years. Examples included 3 to 5 years at Pi Square Technologies, 3 to 8 years at EY and PwC, 3 to 10 years at Cognizant, 7 to 10 years for a TCS architect role and 10 to 15 years for an Optiv senior consultant role. Only an older Global Infovision developer listing started at 1 year.
What skills do SailPoint developer jobs need?
In the 11 job descriptions we read, the most common skills were hands-on IdentityIQ, Identity Security Cloud or IdentityNow, Java, provisioning and joiner-mover-leaver work, and access certifications. Active Directory or LDAP, ServiceNow, BeanShell, roles and SoD policies, and REST APIs came next. SQL, SSO and MFA, and HR systems such as Workday also appeared in some listings.
Is IdentityIQ or Identity Security Cloud more in demand?
IdentityIQ appears in more Indian listings today. On 24 October 2026, Naukri showed 796 results for "sailpoint identityiq" and only 69 for "identitynow", though many cloud listings write "ISC" or "IDN" instead. Big Four firms and specialists also advertised ISC-titled roles. Learning IdentityIQ first and then the ISC equivalents lets you apply for both kinds of job.
Are there remote SailPoint jobs in India?
Fully remote SailPoint jobs are rare. On Naukri's Hyderabad "sailpoint" page on 24 October 2026, only 11 of 934 results were marked remote, while 837 were work from office and 86 hybrid. The clearest remote role we saw was a long-term contract SailPoint developer role at World Wide Technology asking for 8 to 12 years. Hybrid roles, such as PwC's, are more common.
Are there SailPoint contract or freelance jobs?
Yes, but mostly for experienced people. Contract roles appear through IT staffing firms and specialist consultancies, such as a long-term remote contract SailPoint developer role at World Wide Technology that asked for 8 to 12 years. Freelance SailPoint work is usually open only to people with several years of hands-on delivery, because clients must trust you with their identity systems.
Do SailPoint jobs require certification?
No. In the 11 job descriptions we read on 24 October 2026, SailPoint certification appeared only as "desirable" or "good to have", never as a requirement. EY listed SailPoint Certified IdentityIQ Engineer as desirable, and PwC called SailPoint certifications good to have. Hands-on experience with IdentityIQ or Identity Security Cloud mattered far more than any badge.
What salary do SailPoint jobs pay in India?
AmbitionBox showed a typical range of ₹7.6 to 8.4 lakh a year for SailPoint developers in India with 1 to 6 years' experience, based on 562 salaries in October 2026. The 1 to 3 year band was about ₹5 to 5.6 lakh and the 3 to 6 year band about ₹8.4 to 9.2 lakh. SailPoint consultants showed ₹9.8 to 11.6 lakh for 2 to 8 years.
Which job portals are best for SailPoint jobs?
Naukri and LinkedIn carried the most SailPoint listings when we checked on 24 October 2026, with about 5,550 and 4,000+ results for India. Company career sites matter too, especially for Big Four firms, GCCs and SailPoint itself, whose careers page lists India as a job location. Set daily alerts for "sailpoint", "iam" and related titles in your target cities.
Does SailPoint (the company) hire in India?
Yes. SailPoint's official careers page lists India as one of its job locations, with roles on a Workday board. On 24 October 2026, LinkedIn showed SailPoint listings in Pune for software engineers, a solution architect, an engineering manager, a demo engineer and a product manager. We saw no SailPoint-company listing in Hyderabad. These are product roles, different from SailPoint-skill jobs at other firms.
What are IAM jobs?
IAM jobs are identity and access management roles that control who can sign in to company systems and what they can access. They include IAM analysts, IAM engineers, IGA developers, PAM engineers and IAM consultants. On 24 October 2026, Naukri showed about 8,438 results for "iam" and 9,878 for "identity access management" in India, both keyword-match counts that include unrelated roles.
Do SailPoint jobs involve night shifts?
Some do, but night shifts are not typical across all roles. Listings we read on 24 October 2026 showed a Deloitte role from 11 AM to 8 PM, a separate Deloitte posting on US shift, ICE asking for 17x5 rotational shifts and EY managed services asking for on-call support. Development roles usually keep day hours, while support roles more often rotate.
Is Java required for SailPoint jobs?
For developer roles, yes in most cases. Java appeared in 5 of the 11 job descriptions we read, and EY's IdentityIQ senior role asked for 2 or more years of Java along with BeanShell and REST APIs. IdentityIQ is a Java web application and its rules are written in BeanShell, a Java-like language. Analyst and operations roles need less coding.
What is a SailPoint testing job?
A SailPoint testing job checks that identity processes work correctly before and after changes, such as provisioning, joiner-mover-leaver flows and certification campaigns. These roles are few. On 24 October 2026, First Citizens India listed a principal IAM engineer role in Bengaluru focused on quality assurance and SailPoint testing. Testers who learn IAM and SailPoint basics can aim for such roles.
What degree do I need for SailPoint jobs?
Most listings accept a broad range of degrees. PwC asked for any graduate, ICE accepted a graduate in any stream with IT knowledge, Deloitte listed B.Tech, M.Tech, MS or MBA, and WSP asked for a CS or IT bachelor's or equivalent experience. B.Tech, BCA, MCA and B.Sc graduates with IT skills can apply, but experience matters more than the degree name.
How should I search for SailPoint jobs on Naukri and LinkedIn?
Search more than the word "sailpoint". Add titles such as IAM analyst, IAM engineer, IGA engineer, access management operations and SailPoint ISC engineer. On LinkedIn, try "SailPoint" AND ("IdentityIQ" OR "IIQ"), or "SailPoint" AND ("ISC" OR "IdentityNow" OR "IDN") for cloud roles. Read each JD rather than trusting the experience tag, and set daily alerts.
How do I prepare for a SailPoint job interview?
Prepare to explain your lab project end to end, then revise the Identity Cube, aggregation versus correlation, rule types, role types, certification phases and how you would fix a failed leaver. Practise answering scenario questions aloud and do mock interviews. Brolly Academy's SailPoint interview questions page has about 60 questions on IdentityIQ concepts you can use for practice.
Can a Brolly Academy course help me get a SailPoint job?
It can help you build the skills and proof that SailPoint job descriptions ask for. Brolly Academy's 2-month SailPoint course is IdentityIQ-focused, with an introduction to IdentityNow, and covers connectors, correlation, roles, certifications, workflows and BeanShell rules, with six capstone projects, mock interviews and placement assistance. Placement assistance supports your job search but is not a job guarantee.
