Quick answer
SailPoint certification is SailPoint's official program of seven exams that prove your skills in its identity governance products, split into three role-based certifications (Identity Security Administrator, Identity Security Engineer and IdentityIQ Engineer) and four training-based credentials (Leader, Professional, Expert and IdentityIQ Associate). The role-based exams are online, proctored, pass/fail tests of up to 66 to 74 questions in 90 to 120 minutes, and they stay valid for two years. The training-based credentials never expire and their exams are free when you complete the matching SailPoint training path (SailPoint program page, September 2026).
- For IdentityIQ (the self-managed product): IdentityIQ Associate first, then SailPoint Certified IdentityIQ Engineer
- For Identity Security Cloud (the SaaS product): SailPoint Certified Identity Security Administrator or Identity Security Engineer
- Fees: training-based exams cost 2 training units (about $200) if bought alone; role-based exam prices are shown on Identity University at checkout
- Scores: SailPoint publishes pass/fail only, with no passing score
- Jobs: job descriptions we read in October 2026 list SailPoint certification as "desirable" or "good to have", never mandatory
Key takeaways
- There are exactly seven current SailPoint credentials. Older names such as "IdentityIQ Architect" or "IdentityNow Engineer" are no longer in the program.
- Pick your exam by product: IdentityIQ Engineer for IdentityIQ work, Identity Security Administrator or Engineer for Identity Security Cloud work.
- SailPoint recommends 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience for the role-based exams, so freshers should start with a training-based credential.
- Every enrollment includes one free retake within 364 days, and role-based certifications are renewed by passing the exam again.
- Certification helps you stand out, but Indian job descriptions still hire on hands-on project skills first.
1. SailPoint certification at a glance
Short answer: SailPoint's program page lists seven credentials in two groups: three role-based certifications that test real job skills and expire after two years, and four training-based credentials that you earn after SailPoint training and that do not expire.
Before we start, one quick clarification. In SailPoint products, "certification" also means an access certification: a review campaign where managers or application owners approve or revoke the access people hold. That is a product feature. This article is about professional certification, the exams that prove your own skills.
SailPoint runs the program through Identity University, its training portal. The list below comes from the SailPoint Professional Certification and Credentialing Program page, last updated on 23 September 2026.
A quick word on product names, because exams and job posts use them differently. IdentityIQ is SailPoint's self-managed product that a company runs on its own servers or hosting; SailPoint announced IdentityIQ 9.0 on 6 October 2026. Identity Security Cloud (ISC, formerly IdentityNow, now sold as SailPoint Human Fabric within SailPoint Identity Security) is the SaaS product. SailPoint calls Human Fabric the evolution of Identity Security Cloud, but the exam names and most Indian job posts still say "Identity Security Cloud" or "ISC", so we use ISC from here.
How big is the program? When SailPoint launched its Recertification Program on 17 February 2026, its press release said there were over 12,000 SailPoint certified professionals, and that the new Administrator exam was the seventh exam in the program (SailPoint, February 2026).
2. Role-based certifications vs training-based credentials
Short answer: Role-based certifications are harder, proctored, experience-level exams that expire after two years; training-based credentials follow SailPoint courses, launch directly in Identity University and never expire.
The two groups work very differently. This table sums up the rules from the official program page (SailPoint, September 2026).
A few terms you will see in every exam guide:
- Training units: SailPoint's prepaid currency for training and exams on Identity University.
- Proctored exam: a remote invigilator watches you through your webcam while you take the test.
- DOMC (discrete option multiple choice): the question format SailPoint uses. In DOMC exams, answer options are generally shown one at a time and you decide whether each one is correct, so you cannot compare all options side by side.
- Credly badge: a digital badge you can share on LinkedIn that employers can click to verify.
Simple rule of thumb: training-based credentials show you finished SailPoint training and understood it; role-based certifications show you can do the job.
3. The three role-based certifications in detail
Short answer: IdentityIQ Engineer has up to 66 questions in 90 minutes; Identity Security Engineer has up to 73 questions in 120 minutes; Identity Security Administrator has up to 74 questions in 120 minutes. All three are online, proctored, pass/fail and valid for two years.
Each exam has an official prep guide on SailPoint Compass, the community site. The details below come from those guides as updated in October 2026. SailPoint does not publish weights for the domains, so give every domain real study time.
SailPoint Certified IdentityIQ Engineer
This is the main certification for IdentityIQ developers, and the one Indian job descriptions name most. According to the IdentityIQ Engineer exam prep guide (SailPoint, updated 21 October 2026):
- Format: up to 66 DOMC questions, up to 90 minutes, online and proctored
- Navigation: you cannot go back or flag questions, and the exam can end early once your result is decided
- Attempts: 2 attempts (one automatic retake)
- Recommended background: 1 to 3 years of IdentityIQ implementation experience plus the Identity Security Engineer (IdentityIQ) learning path
- Assumed skills: identity governance (IGA) basics, moderate XML, and Java or BeanShell
- Validity: 2 years, with a Credly badge
The seven domains are:
- Installation, Build and Deployment
- Lifecycle Manager
- Identity Governance
- Development
- Application Onboarding
- Debugging and Troubleshooting
- Data and Access Modeling
Some jargon, explained. IGA (identity governance and administration) means controlling who has access to what, and proving it to auditors. BeanShell is a Java-based scripting language used to write rules (small pieces of custom logic) in IdentityIQ. Lifecycle Manager is the IdentityIQ module for access requests, approvals and provisioning, which means creating, changing or removing accounts and access on target systems. Application onboarding means connecting a new system to IdentityIQ through a connector so its accounts can be read and managed.
SailPoint Certified Identity Security Engineer
This is the engineering certification for Identity Security Cloud. According to the Identity Security Engineer exam prep guide (SailPoint, updated 21 October 2026):
- Format: up to 73 DOMC questions, up to 120 minutes, online and proctored
- Attempts: 2 attempts
- Recommended background: 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience plus the Identity Security Engineer training path
- Validity: 2 years
Its ten domains are Identity and Lifecycle Management; Provisioning; Access Management; Virtual Appliances; Sources; General knowledge; Platforms; Supporting Governance; Architecture; and Rules and Transforms.
In ISC, a source is any system that holds identity or account data, such as an HR app or Active Directory. A virtual appliance (VA) is a small machine you run inside your network so the cloud tenant can reach on-premises sources without opening your firewall. A transform is a JSON configuration that changes an attribute value (for example, making an email address lowercase) during aggregation or provisioning, without writing code.
SailPoint Certified Identity Security Administrator
This is the newest exam, launched in February 2026, for people who run and support ISC day to day. According to the Identity Security Administrator exam prep guide (SailPoint, updated 21 October 2026):
- Format: up to 74 DOMC questions, up to 120 minutes, online and proctored
- Attempts: 2 attempts
- Recommended background: 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience plus the Identity Security Administrator training path
- Validity: 2 years
Its eight domains are Platform; Virtual Appliances; Identity and Lifecycle Management; Provisioning; Access Management; Supporting Governance; Sources; and General knowledge. Notice that it shares most domains with the Engineer exam but drops Architecture, Platforms, and Rules and Transforms. That makes it the natural first ISC exam for admins and support engineers.
Side-by-side comparison
4. The four training-based credentials
Short answer: The training-based credentials are the IdentityIQ Associate, Identity Security Leader, Identity Security Professional and Identity Security Expert; they never expire and their exams are free with the matching SailPoint training path.
SailPoint Certified IdentityIQ Associate
This is the best-documented beginner credential and the natural first step for IdentityIQ learners. According to the IdentityIQ Associate exam prep guide (SailPoint, updated 23 September 2026):
- Format: up to 43 DOMC questions, up to 90 minutes, with 2 attempts; the guide describes it as online and proctored
- Prerequisite: complete the Identity Security Engineer (IdentityIQ) learning path courses, including IdentityIQ Introduction and IdentityIQ Essentials
- Validity: the badge never expires
Its seven domains are Foundational Concepts; Applications; Identity Modeling; Access Modeling; Governance; User-Driven Requests; and Provisioning. These map closely to what a beginner learns first: how applications connect, how identities are built from HR data, how roles and entitlements are modelled, and how access is requested and provisioned.
Identity Security Leader, Professional and Expert
SailPoint has prep guides for these three credentials on Compass, but the question counts were not something we could verify, so we do not quote them. What the program page does confirm (SailPoint, September 2026) is:
- They are training-based, so you earn them by finishing SailPoint training and passing an exam that launches directly in Identity University.
- The exam is free when you complete the matching training path, or costs 2 training units (about $200) if you buy it on its own.
- They do not expire.
Before you enroll, open the prep guide for each credential on Compass to see the exact training path it is tied to.
5. How to register for a SailPoint exam, step by step
Short answer: You create an Identity University account, buy the exam enrollment, and then either launch it directly (training-based) or book a Proctor360 slot at least 48 hours later (role-based).
Here is the full flow, based on the official program page rules (SailPoint, September 2026):
- Create or sign in to your Identity University account at university.sailpoint.com. If your employer is a SailPoint customer or partner, ask your manager whether the company account already gives you access to training.
- Read the prep guide for your chosen exam on SailPoint Compass and confirm you meet the recommended experience and training.
- Buy the enrollment. Training-based exams are free with the matching path or cost 2 training units alone. For role-based exams, the price is shown at checkout. Enrollments are non-refundable and expire 364 days after purchase.
- For role-based exams, schedule with Proctor360. You can book a slot at least 48 hours after your registration is confirmed.
- Check your system and room. Proctored exams need a working webcam, microphone and stable internet, and a quiet private room.
- Take the exam. Join on time: Proctor360 applies a 15-minute no-show rule.
- Get your result. Results are Pass/Fail only and are emailed within 72 business hours. If you pass a role-based exam, you also get a Credly badge.
- Use your free retake if needed. Each enrollment includes one free retake within 364 days.
Need to change your slot? Rescheduling is free up to 48 hours before the exam. Inside 48 hours, Proctor360 charges a rescheduling fee of $20 (SailPoint program page, September 2026). For the full fee breakdown and how to estimate the rupee amount on payment day, read our guide to SailPoint certification cost.
6. Which SailPoint certification should you choose?
Short answer: Match the exam to the product you work on and your experience: freshers start with a training-based credential, IdentityIQ developers aim for IdentityIQ Engineer, and ISC admins or engineers take the matching ISC exam.
Use this table as a decision guide.
A few practical notes for Indian learners:
- IdentityIQ still dominates Indian job posts. On 24 October 2026, Naukri showed about 796 results for "sailpoint identityiq" but only about 69 for "identitynow". These are keyword matches, not job counts, and many cloud listings write "SailPoint ISC" instead, but they show that IdentityIQ skills remain the common entry point.
- Architects do not have a separate exam. The "IdentityIQ Architect" name that appears in some older job posts and blogs is not in the current program. Senior people show depth by holding role-based certifications and leading implementations.
- Do not skip ahead. SailPoint recommends 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience for every role-based exam. A fresher who rushes into the IdentityIQ Engineer exam with only theory will find the Debugging and Troubleshooting and Installation domains hard.
If you want the bigger picture of where certification fits among Java, SQL, Active Directory and project skills, see our SailPoint roadmap.
7. A 6 to 8 week study plan
Short answer: Spend the first two weeks on IAM basics and the product model, four weeks on hands-on labs mapped to the exam domains, and the last one or two weeks on revision and timed practice.
This plan assumes about 1.5 to 2 hours on weekdays and 4 hours at weekends, and that you have access to SailPoint training and a practice environment through your employer, a SailPoint partner or a training program. Use legal environments only.
Some terms from the plan. An entitlement is a single permission, such as membership of an AD group. A role bundles entitlements into something a business user understands, such as "Accounts Payable Clerk". SoD (separation of duties) means no single person should hold two conflicting permissions, such as creating and approving the same payment. Joiner-mover-leaver (JML) is the cycle of giving access when someone joins, changing it when they move, and removing it when they leave. Aggregation reads accounts from a system, and correlation links each account to the right identity.
If you are completely new and need a gentler start, follow the labs in our SailPoint tutorial before week 1.
A word on exam dumps. You will see "dumps" and "500 real questions" sold online. Avoid them. SailPoint's DOMC format and unscored questions make memorised answers unreliable, and using leaked questions can break the exam rules you accept at enrollment. More importantly, interviewers will test the same skills in person.
8. Recommended official training
Short answer: Each exam names its own training path on Identity University: the Identity Security Engineer (IdentityIQ) learning path for IdentityIQ exams, and the Identity Security Engineer or Identity Security Administrator training paths for the ISC exams.
From the official prep guides (SailPoint, September and October 2026):
- IdentityIQ Associate: complete the Identity Security Engineer (IdentityIQ) learning path courses, including IdentityIQ Introduction and IdentityIQ Essentials.
- IdentityIQ Engineer: the Identity Security Engineer (IdentityIQ) learning path, plus 1 to 3 years of implementation experience.
- Identity Security Engineer: the Identity Security Engineer training path, plus 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience.
- Identity Security Administrator: the Identity Security Administrator training path, plus 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience.
Individual course prices change and are shown on Identity University, so check them there. Two free resources help alongside paid training:
- SailPoint documentation: the official product docs explain every object you will be tested on, from certifications and policies to sources and transforms.
- SailPoint Developer Community: the developer portal at developer.sailpoint.com has API specs, transform references, SDKs and tools such as the Rule Development Kit, which help with the Rules and Transforms domain (SailPoint, October 2026).
9. Is SailPoint certification worth it?
Short answer: Yes, if you already have, or are building, hands-on SailPoint project skills; it strengthens your profile and validates your knowledge. No, if you hope it will replace experience, because Indian job descriptions treat it as "good to have", not as a requirement.
Here is what the job market actually showed when we checked on 24 October 2026.
What job descriptions say about certification. EY's "TC-CS-IAM-SailPoint IIQ-Senior" listing in Hyderabad on LinkedIn lists "SailPoint Certified IdentityIQ Engineer" as desirable, while its essential requirements are 3 or more years of IdentityIQ development, Java, BeanShell and REST APIs (EY, October 2026). A PwC "Sailpoint Developer" listing on Naukri asks for 4 to 8 years and says SailPoint certifications are "good to have" (PwC, October 2026). It still names older titles such as IdentityNow Engineer, which shows how slowly job posts catch up with the program. In the 11 job descriptions we read, certification was never mandatory.
What experience they want. Almost every SailPoint listing we read asked for 3 years or more. We found no SailPoint developer listing that genuinely accepted 0 years' experience; junior entry points were IAM operations, access management and support roles. A certification helps you stand out for those roles, but your project skills get you through the interview.
Demand signal. On 24 October 2026, Naukri showed about 5,550 results for "sailpoint" across India. That is a keyword-match count with duplicates and loosely related roles, not a count of open SailPoint jobs, but it shows a steady market.
Pay context. AmbitionBox showed a typical range of ₹7.6 to 8.4 lakh a year for SailPoint developers in India with 1 to 6 years' experience (562 salaries, updated 18 October 2026). Its 1 to 3 year band was about ₹5 to 5.6 lakh and its 3 to 6 year band about ₹8.4 to 9.2 lakh. These figures do not separate certified from non-certified people, so read them as market context, not as a "certification bonus".
When it is worth it
- You work on IdentityIQ or ISC and want proof of skill for a promotion, client project or job switch.
- You are in IAM operations and want to move into implementation.
- Your employer pays for training and the exam, which many SailPoint partners and customers do.
- You want a credential that does not expire: training-based credentials are a low-risk start.
When to wait
- You have not touched the product yet. Get hands-on practice first.
- You are a fresher thinking of the IdentityIQ Engineer exam. Start with the Associate credential and an IAM operations role.
- You plan to pay yourself and cannot afford a retake. Prepare until you can explain every domain.
For more on where certification leads, from IAM analyst to architect, read our guide to a SailPoint career.
10. Exam-day tips
Short answer: Test your setup early, join on time, read every DOMC option carefully because you cannot go back, and manage your time across all questions.
- Run the system check a day before. Use a laptop you control, with a working webcam and microphone. Office laptops with strict security software sometimes block proctoring tools.
- Prepare your room. Clear your desk, close other apps, and make sure no one will walk in. Tell your family or flatmates about the time slot.
- Plan around power and internet. In many Indian cities, a short power cut can end your session. Keep your laptop charged and a mobile hotspot ready as a backup.
- Join early. Proctor360's 15-minute no-show rule means a late start can cost you the attempt.
- Read each option on its own. In DOMC, options appear one at a time. Decide on each based on what you know, not on what you expect the next option to be.
- Do not expect to go back. The IdentityIQ Engineer guide says you cannot go back or flag questions. Answer, then move on.
- Do not panic if the exam ends early. It can end once your result is decided.
- Expect unscored questions. Some questions may be unscored trial items, so do not spend too long on one strange question.
- Wait for your email. Results arrive within 72 business hours.
11. Validity, renewal and recertification
Short answer: Role-based certifications last two years and are renewed by retaking the exam, with the new expiry counted from the exam date; training-based credentials never expire.
The program page (SailPoint, September 2026) sets the rules:
- Role-based certifications (Identity Security Administrator, Identity Security Engineer and IdentityIQ Engineer) are valid for two years from the date issued.
- Renewal is done by retaking the exam. Your new expiry date counts from the date of the new exam.
- Training-based credentials (Leader, Professional, Expert and IdentityIQ Associate) do not expire.
On 17 February 2026, SailPoint announced a Recertification Program that extends certifications by two more years for holders of the Identity Security Engineer, IdentityIQ Engineer or Identity Security Administrator certifications. At the same time, SailPoint moved to Credly badges (SailPoint press release, February 2026). In practice, set a reminder about three months before your expiry date, check the current recertification option on Identity University, and update your badge on LinkedIn once you renew.
Why renewal matters: SailPoint's products move fast. In 2026 alone, SailPoint renamed its SaaS offering as Human Fabric and announced IdentityIQ 9.0. Renewing every two years keeps your knowledge in line with what clients run.
12. How Brolly Academy helps
Short answer: Brolly Academy's 2-month SailPoint program builds the IdentityIQ hands-on skills the Associate and IdentityIQ Engineer exams assume, with projects, mock interviews and placement assistance.
The SailPoint Certification Training in Hyderabad course is IdentityIQ-focused, with an introduction to IdentityNow. Its 10 modules cover IdentityIQ architecture, installation and deployment; the Identity Cube; delimited and JDBC connector onboarding; account correlation; Active Directory provisioning and deprovisioning; policies and violations; certifications; roles and rules; workflows; and debugging. Those topics line up with exam domains such as Application Onboarding, Identity Governance, Lifecycle Manager, Development, and Debugging and Troubleshooting.
What you get, as listed on the course page (Brolly Academy, October 2026):
- Classroom, online and hybrid batches, plus a self-paced video plan; weekday, weekend and fast-track batches, with the next batch on Monday, 2 November 2026
- A lead instructor with 8+ years in IAM and SailPoint
- Six capstone projects, including user onboarding, certification campaigns, joiner-mover-leaver provisioning, roles and policies, and workflow automation
- Daily lab practice with mentor support, mock interviews, resume support and placement assistance
Two honest notes. First, SailPoint's certification exams are issued and examined by SailPoint, not by Brolly Academy, and exam fees are separate and paid to SailPoint. Second, placement assistance is support with your job search, not a job guarantee. You can book a free demo class before you enroll. To practise for interviews, use our SailPoint interview questions page.

Frequently asked questions
What is SailPoint certification?
SailPoint certification is SailPoint's official program of exams that prove your skills in its identity governance products, IdentityIQ and Identity Security Cloud. In 2026 it has seven credentials: three role-based certifications that test job skills and last two years, and four training-based credentials that follow SailPoint training and never expire. You take the exams through Identity University, SailPoint's training portal.
How many SailPoint certifications are there?
There are seven current SailPoint credentials. The role-based ones are Identity Security Administrator, Identity Security Engineer and IdentityIQ Engineer. The training-based ones are the Identity Security Leader Credential, Identity Security Professional, Identity Security Expert and IdentityIQ Associate. SailPoint said the Administrator exam, launched in February 2026, was the seventh exam in the program.
What are the types of SailPoint certification?
SailPoint certifications come in two types. Role-based certifications are online, proctored exams for people with 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience, and they are valid for two years. Training-based credentials are earned after SailPoint training, launch directly in Identity University without scheduling, and do not expire. Both types report results as Pass or Fail only.
Which SailPoint certification is best for beginners?
For beginners, the SailPoint Certified IdentityIQ Associate is the best documented starting point. It has up to 43 questions in 90 minutes and needs the Identity Security Engineer (IdentityIQ) learning path courses, including IdentityIQ Introduction and IdentityIQ Essentials. The badge never expires. Role-based exams recommend 1 to 3 years of experience, so they suit you later in your career.
What is the SailPoint certification path?
A common SailPoint certification path starts with a training-based credential and moves to a role-based certification after real project work. For IdentityIQ, go from IdentityIQ Associate to IdentityIQ Engineer. For Identity Security Cloud, go from Identity Security Administrator to Identity Security Engineer. Senior consultants often hold certifications in both products instead of a separate architect exam.
How many questions are in the SailPoint IdentityIQ Engineer exam?
The SailPoint Certified IdentityIQ Engineer exam has up to 66 discrete option multiple choice questions and lasts up to 90 minutes. It is online and proctored, you cannot go back or flag questions, and it can end early once your result is decided. It covers seven domains, from Installation, Build and Deployment to Data and Access Modeling.
What is the passing score for SailPoint certification?
SailPoint does not publish a passing score for its certification exams. Results are reported as Pass or Fail only, with no scores or passing thresholds shared, and some questions may be unscored. Your result is emailed within 72 business hours. Treat any website that quotes an exact passing percentage with caution.
Is the SailPoint exam proctored online?
Yes, SailPoint's role-based exams are taken online and proctored through Proctor360. You book a slot at least 48 hours after your registration is confirmed, and rescheduling is free up to 48 hours before the exam. Training-based exams launch directly in Identity University without a separate booking.
Do I need SailPoint training before the exam?
Training is required for some exams and recommended for others. The IdentityIQ Associate needs the IdentityIQ learning path courses, and training-based exams are free with their matching path. For role-based exams, SailPoint recommends its training path plus 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience, so experience matters as much as the course.
How long is SailPoint certification valid?
Role-based SailPoint certifications, which are Identity Security Administrator, Identity Security Engineer and IdentityIQ Engineer, are valid for two years from the date issued. Training-based credentials, which are Leader, Professional, Expert and IdentityIQ Associate, do not expire. You renew a role-based certification by retaking the exam, and the new expiry counts from that exam date.
How does SailPoint recertification work?
You recertify a role-based SailPoint certification by passing the exam again, and the new two-year validity starts from that exam date. On 17 February 2026, SailPoint announced a Recertification Program that extends certifications by two more years for Identity Security Engineer, IdentityIQ Engineer and Identity Security Administrator holders. Check Identity University for the current option.
Is SailPoint certification free?
Some SailPoint credentials are effectively free. Training-based exams are free when you complete the matching SailPoint training path, though the training itself may cost money. Bought on their own, they cost 2 training units, about $200. Role-based exam prices are not free and are shown on Identity University at checkout.
How much does the SailPoint certification exam cost?
Training-based SailPoint exams cost 2 training units, about $200, when bought on their own, and are free with the matching training path. SailPoint does not list the role-based exam price on its program page, so check the price on Identity University at checkout. Rescheduling inside 48 hours costs a $20 Proctor360 fee.
Can freshers take SailPoint certification?
Freshers can take SailPoint's training-based credentials, such as the IdentityIQ Associate, after completing the required courses. The role-based exams recommend 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience, so they are hard without project work. Since most SailPoint listings ask for 3 or more years, freshers usually start in IAM operations or support roles.
Is SailPoint certification worth it in India?
SailPoint certification is worth it when you combine it with hands-on project skills. In October 2026, job descriptions from firms such as EY and PwC listed it as desirable or good to have, never mandatory, while asking for 3 or more years of experience. It helps you stand out, but projects and interview skills get you hired.
Does SailPoint certification increase salary?
There is no published data showing a certification salary premium in India. AmbitionBox showed a typical range of ₹7.6 to 8.4 lakh a year for SailPoint developers with 1 to 6 years' experience in October 2026, rising to about ₹8.4 to 9.2 lakh in the 3 to 6 year band. Experience drives pay more than the badge.
Which is better, IdentityIQ or Identity Security Cloud certification?
Neither is better overall; pick the product you work on. IdentityIQ still appears in far more Indian listings, with Naukri showing about 796 results for "sailpoint identityiq" against about 69 for "identitynow" in October 2026. Identity Security Cloud certifications suit people supporting the SaaS product. Senior consultants often hold both.
What is the difference between a SailPoint credential and a certification?
In SailPoint's program, certifications are role-based exams that test job skills, need advance booking through Proctor360 and expire after two years. Credentials are training-based, follow a SailPoint training path, launch directly in Identity University and never expire. Both show on your profile, but role-based certifications carry more weight with employers.
How hard is the SailPoint IdentityIQ Engineer exam?
The IdentityIQ Engineer exam is demanding because it assumes 1 to 3 years of implementation experience, moderate XML and Java or BeanShell skills. Its domains include Installation, Build and Deployment and Debugging and Troubleshooting, which are hard to learn from theory alone. You also cannot go back to earlier questions.
What is the Identity Security Administrator certification?
The SailPoint Certified Identity Security Administrator is the role-based exam for people who run and support Identity Security Cloud. It has up to 74 questions in up to 120 minutes, is online and proctored, and is valid for two years. Its eight domains include Platform, Virtual Appliances, Sources, Provisioning and Access Management.
What is the Identity Security Engineer certification?
The SailPoint Certified Identity Security Engineer is the role-based exam for Identity Security Cloud implementation engineers. It has up to 73 questions in up to 120 minutes, is online and proctored, and stays valid for two years. Its ten domains include Architecture, Virtual Appliances, Sources, Provisioning, and Rules and Transforms.
Is there a SailPoint IdentityIQ Architect certification?
No, there is no current SailPoint IdentityIQ Architect certification. It does not appear in SailPoint's seven-credential program, though older job posts and blogs still mention it. Senior people show architect-level depth by holding role-based certifications such as IdentityIQ Engineer and leading implementations, rather than through a separate architect exam.
How many times can I retake a SailPoint exam?
Each SailPoint exam enrollment includes one free retake within 364 days of purchase, so you get two attempts in total. Enrollments are non-refundable and expire 364 days after purchase. If you fail twice, you need to buy a new enrollment, so prepare well before your first attempt.
Are SailPoint exam dumps reliable?
No, exam dumps are not reliable and you should avoid them. SailPoint uses the DOMC format and may include unscored questions, so memorised answers often fail. Using leaked questions can also break the exam rules you accept at enrollment. Interviewers test the same skills in person, so real practice serves you better.
Does Brolly Academy prepare you for SailPoint certification?
Brolly Academy's 2-month SailPoint course is IdentityIQ-focused, with an introduction to IdentityNow, and covers topics such as connector onboarding, correlation, policies, certifications, roles, rules, workflows and debugging that match IdentityIQ exam domains. The exams are issued by SailPoint, not Brolly Academy, and exam fees are separate and paid to SailPoint.
