PMP certification jobs 2026: roles, hiring companies and pay, Brolly Academy

Quick answer

PMP certification jobs are project, programme and delivery roles where employers list the PMP (Project Management Professional) credential as required or preferred, such as Project Manager, Senior Project Manager, Program Manager, Delivery Manager, PMO Lead and Technical Project Manager. In India you find them mostly in IT services, global capability centres (GCCs), consulting, banking and insurance, construction and infrastructure, and pharma. On 22 October 2026, Naukri showed 50,668 results for the keyword "PMP" across India and 4,899 in Hyderabad. These are keyword matches, not jobs that all require PMP. PMP helps you get shortlisted, but recruiters also want proof that you have led projects, plus agile, tool and stakeholder skills.

  • Top titles: Project Manager, Senior Project Manager, Program Manager, Delivery Manager, PMO Manager
  • Top industries: IT services, GCCs, consulting, BFSI, construction, pharma and healthcare
  • Top cities: Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Pune, Chennai, Mumbai and the NCR
  • What else recruiters check: years leading projects, agile and hybrid delivery, Jira and MS Project, domain knowledge
  • Freshers: PMP needs years of project leadership, so start with CAPM or a coordinator role

Key takeaways

  1. PMP is a mid-career credential. PMI requires 3 years of experience leading projects within the last 10 years if you have a bachelor's degree (PMI, October 2026), so most PMP jobs are for experienced people.
  2. Naukri listed 50,668 "PMP" keyword results in India and 4,899 in Hyderabad on 22 October 2026. Treat these as jobs that mention PMP, not jobs that demand it.
  3. Hyderabad is one of the strongest PMP job markets because of its IT services firms and GCCs, and AmbitionBox lists it among the top-paying metros for project managers (October 2026).
  4. Job descriptions ask for more than PMP: agile and hybrid delivery, budgeting, risk management, stakeholder handling, tools and domain knowledge.
  5. The fastest route to a PMP role is usually an internal move or a referral, backed by a resume that shows measurable project results.

1. What are PMP certification jobs?

Short answer: PMP certification jobs are roles where you plan, lead and deliver projects or programmes, and where the employer names PMP as a required or preferred qualification.

PMP stands for Project Management Professional. It is issued by PMI (Project Management Institute), a global professional body for project management. PMI says more than 1.7 million people hold the PMP, which makes it the world's most widely held project certification (PMI PMP certification page, October 2026).

The certificate itself is not a job. It is a signal. When a recruiter sees PMP on your profile, it tells them three things:

  • You have led projects for a set number of years, because PMI checks your experience before you can sit the exam.
  • You know a common language of project management: scope, schedule, cost, risk, stakeholders, agile and hybrid delivery.
  • You passed a demanding 180-question, 240-minute exam.

That is why large employers, especially IT services companies and global clients, often write "PMP preferred" or "PMP mandatory" in their job descriptions. Some client contracts also ask the vendor to staff projects with certified managers, which turns PMP into a hard filter for certain roles.

A PMP job is not limited to the title "Project Manager". Many roles with different names do project management every day. The next section lists them.

2. Job titles that ask for PMP

Short answer: The job titles that most often mention PMP are Project Manager, Senior Project Manager, Program Manager, Delivery Manager, Technical Project Manager, PMO Manager or Lead, Portfolio Manager and Project Management Consultant.

Here are the common titles, what the role involves, and the typical experience level. Experience levels are general guidance from how these roles are usually advertised, not fixed rules.

Job title What you do Typical level Project Manager Plan and deliver one or more projects on scope, time and budget Mid level Senior Project Manager Run larger or more complex projects and guide other PMs Mid to senior Technical Project Manager Lead software or engineering projects with strong technical depth Mid level Program Manager Coordinate several related projects toward one business goal Senior Delivery Manager Own delivery of client accounts or service lines in IT services Senior PMO Manager or PMO Lead Set standards, governance, reporting and tools for all projects Mid to senior Portfolio Manager Choose and balance projects to match business strategy Senior Project Management Consultant Advise clients on project setup, recovery or PMO design Mid to senior

You will also see PMP mentioned in roles that sit next to project management:

  • Project Coordinator or Project Analyst: an entry route. PMP is rarely required, but CAPM or PMP is listed as a plus.
  • Scrum Master or Agile Project Manager: agile certifications are usually primary, and PMP is a bonus for hybrid teams. If you are choosing between these paths, our guide on Scrum Master vs Project Manager explains the difference.
  • Engagement Manager, Transition Manager, Implementation Manager: common in IT services, GCCs and SaaS companies.
  • Construction Project Manager, Site Project Manager, MEP Project Manager: common in infrastructure and real estate.
  • Clinical Project Manager: common in pharma and clinical research.

When you search job portals, use all these titles, not just "PMP". You will find many more relevant openings.

3. Industries hiring PMP holders in India

Short answer: IT services and consulting hire the most project managers in India, followed by GCCs, software product firms, management consulting, banking and insurance, engineering and construction, real estate, pharma and telecom.

AmbitionBox gives a useful clue about where project managers work. Its project manager salary page shows the number of salary reports it holds for each industry (AmbitionBox, October 2026). IT Services and Consulting leads with about 61,000 reports, followed by Management Consulting (about 11,500), Engineering and Construction (about 8,800), Software Product (about 6,100) and Real Estate (about 4,100). These are salary reports, not job openings, but they show where most project managers in India are employed.

Industry Typical PMP roles What they value IT services and consulting Project Manager, Delivery Manager, Program Manager Client handling, agile and hybrid delivery, team size GCCs (global capability centres) Technical PM, Program Manager, PMO Lead Global stakeholder work, governance, reporting Software product and SaaS Technical PM, Implementation Manager Release planning, agile, customer onboarding Management consulting PM Consultant, Engagement Manager Structured thinking, PMO design, change management Banking, financial services and insurance IT PM, Transformation PM, PMO Analyst Regulation, risk control, audit readiness Engineering and construction Construction PM, Site PM, MEP PM Cost control, safety, contracts, scheduling tools Real estate Project Manager, Planning Manager Budgets, vendors, approvals, timelines Pharma and healthcare Clinical PM, Plant Project Manager Compliance, quality, documentation

PMI's 2026 exam changes match what these industries now ask for. The July 2026 exam content outline adds AI, sustainability and stakeholder engagement in project scenarios, and lists compliance areas such as security, health and safety, sustainability and regulatory needs (PMI Examination Content Outline, July 2026). That makes a current PMP useful for regulated sectors like banking and pharma, and for construction where safety and sustainability matter.

4. The Hyderabad market: GCCs and IT services

Short answer: Hyderabad is one of India's strongest cities for PMP jobs because it hosts large IT services delivery centres and a fast-growing base of GCCs, and AmbitionBox lists it among the top-paying metros for project managers.

On 22 October 2026, Naukri showed 4,899 results for the keyword "PMP" in Hyderabad and Secunderabad (Naukri, PMP jobs in Hyderabad). That is roughly one in ten of the 50,668 "PMP" results Naukri showed for all of India on the same day. Counts change every day, so check the live numbers when you search.

Where do these jobs come from? Three main groups:

  • IT services companies. Large Indian and global IT services firms run big delivery centres in Hitec City, Madhapur, Gachibowli and the Financial District. They need project and delivery managers for client accounts, and many client contracts favour certified managers.
  • GCCs. Global companies in banking, healthcare, retail, technology and engineering run captive centres in Hyderabad. These centres hire technical project managers, programme managers and PMO leads to run work for global teams. They often look for people who can handle stakeholders in other time zones and report to global leadership.
  • Pharma, life sciences and infrastructure. Hyderabad's pharma cluster and its construction and real estate growth create demand for clinical project managers, plant project managers and construction project managers.

On pay, AmbitionBox shows a typical project manager range of ₹19.8 lakh to ₹21.9 lakh a year in Hyderabad, based on about 15,000 salaries, and lists Hyderabad under its top-paying metro cities (AmbitionBox, October 2026). Other metros are close: Bengaluru ₹19.3 to 21.4 lakh, Pune ₹19.6 to 21.7 lakh, Chennai ₹19.3 to 21.3 lakh and Mumbai ₹18.9 to 20.9 lakh. These are figures for all project managers, not only PMP holders.

How to target Hyderabad employers

  • Filter job portals by Hyderabad and by the areas listed above.
  • Follow the careers pages of GCCs and IT services firms you want to join.
  • Join local PMI chapter events and project management meetups to meet hiring managers.
  • Ask colleagues already in Hyderabad GCCs for referrals. GCC hiring often moves faster through referrals.

5. How many PMP jobs are there in India?

Short answer: On 22 October 2026, Naukri showed 50,668 results for the keyword "PMP" across India, but this number counts every listing that mentions PMP, so it is not a count of jobs that require PMP.

Here are the numbers we saw on Naukri on 22 October 2026:

Naukri search for "PMP" Results on 22 October 2026 India 50,668 (Naukri PMP jobs) Hyderabad and Secunderabad 4,899 (Naukri PMP jobs in Hyderabad)

On the same day, a plain "project manager" search on Naukri returned fewer results than the "PMP" search. Why would a keyword search beat the job title itself? Because a keyword search returns every listing that contains "PMP" anywhere: in the title, the skills list, the "good to have" section, or even a company description. Many of these are programme managers, delivery leads, PMO roles, consultants and senior engineers. Some only list PMP as a nice-to-have.

So read the numbers this way:

  • They show that PMP is a widely used keyword in Indian hiring.
  • They do not show how many jobs make PMP mandatory.
  • They change daily, so use them as a snapshot, not a forecast.

LinkedIn is another major source of PMP jobs, but its job counts sit behind a sign-in, so we do not quote them here.

6. What job descriptions ask for besides PMP

Short answer: Most PMP job descriptions also ask for years of hands-on delivery, agile and hybrid experience, budgeting and risk management, stakeholder and team leadership, tools such as Jira and MS Project, and knowledge of the business domain.

PMP gets your resume past the first filter. The rest of the job description decides whether you get the interview. Here is what recruiters usually list, and how to show each one.

Requirement What they want to see How to prove it Years of delivery Projects led end to end, with team size and budget Resume bullets with numbers Agile and hybrid Sprints, backlogs, release plans, hybrid planning Jira boards, agile certification, examples Scope, schedule and cost control Baselines, change control, earned value Status reports, recovered projects Risk and issue management Risk registers, mitigation, escalation A risk you spotted early and handled Stakeholder management Clients, sponsors, vendors, global teams Steering committee updates, client feedback Team leadership Leading cross-functional or distributed teams Team size, attrition, morale results Tools Jira, Confluence, MS Project, Smartsheet, Excel, Power BI Hands-on use in real projects Domain knowledge Banking, healthcare, retail, telecom, construction Projects in that domain

Agile and hybrid matter more than ever

The July 2026 PMP exam content outline says about 40% of exam items represent predictive approaches and the remaining 60% are split between agile and hybrid approaches (PMI Examination Content Outline, July 2026). Employers think the same way. Many Indian job descriptions now ask for a PM who can run Scrum ceremonies for a software team and still produce a predictive plan for the client. If you only know waterfall, add agile practice before you apply.

Business value and AI

PMI says the new exam shifts focus to outcomes, value and business impact, and adds AI, sustainability and stakeholder engagement. The domain weights are now People 33%, Process 41% and Business Environment 26% (PMI PMP certification page, October 2026). Job descriptions in GCCs and consulting increasingly ask for the same: link projects to business results, and use AI tools for planning, reporting and risk analysis. Mention real examples of both on your resume.

Soft skills

Communication, negotiation, conflict handling and calm decision-making appear in almost every PMP job description. In interviews, you will be asked for stories. Prepare them with our list of PMP interview questions.

7. Can freshers get PMP jobs?

Short answer: Not directly. PMP needs years of experience leading projects, so freshers usually start as project coordinators or analysts, earn the CAPM if they want an early credential, and move to PMP after building experience.

Under PMI's current rules, you need one of these to apply for PMP, with experience gained within the last 10 years and no double counting of overlapping projects (PMI PMP certification page, October 2026):

  • Secondary school (high school diploma or equivalent) and 5 years of experience managing projects
  • Associate's degree or vocational diploma and 4 years
  • Bachelor's degree or higher and 3 years
  • Bachelor's or postgraduate degree from a PMI GAC-accredited programme and 2 years

You also need 35 hours of project management training, or an active CAPM. PMI's July 2026 outline says the experience must be in leading projects (PMI Examination Content Outline, July 2026). For the full rules with examples for Indian roles, read our guide to PMP certification eligibility.

So a "PMP job for freshers" does not really exist. Here is a realistic path instead:

  • Year 0 to 1: join as a Project Coordinator, PMO Analyst, Business Analyst, junior Scrum team member, or site engineer in construction.
  • Year 1 to 3: take ownership of small projects, workstreams or releases. Keep a log of what you led, for how long, and the results.
  • Year 3 onwards: apply for PMP once your leadership experience meets PMI's rule, then target Project Manager roles.

Be careful with any course that promises a "PMP job guarantee". No training provider can make PMI waive the experience rule, and no certificate guarantees a job.

8. Where to apply for PMP jobs

Short answer: Apply through Naukri, LinkedIn, company careers pages, Indeed and Foundit, but expect the best results from internal moves, referrals and networking at PMI chapter events.

Channel Best for Tip Internal job posting Moving from tech lead, BA or coordinator to PM Ask your manager for a small project first Referrals GCCs and large IT services firms Ask former colleagues directly, with a short note Naukri Volume of Indian openings Set alerts for several titles, not just "PMP" LinkedIn GCCs, product firms, recruiters Add PMP to your headline and turn on "open to work" for recruiters Company careers pages Specific target employers Shortlist 20 firms and check weekly Recruitment consultants Senior and niche roles Work with two or three who know your domain PMI chapter events Networking with hiring managers Volunteer, speak or help organise

Remote and part-time PMP jobs

Remote project manager roles exist, especially with product companies and global clients, but they are fewer and more competitive than office or hybrid roles. Part-time PMP jobs are rare. Freelance PMO support, project audits and training roles are the closest options for experienced PMs.

Overseas PMP jobs

Many Indians search for PMP jobs in Dubai, the UAE, Canada or Europe. PMP is recognised globally, which helps. But each country has its own visa, language and local experience needs, so research those first. A common route is to join a global firm in India and move through an internal transfer.

9. PMP job salaries at a glance

Short answer: AmbitionBox shows a typical project manager salary of ₹17.1 lakh to ₹18.9 lakh a year in India for people with 4 to 19 years of experience, and PMI reports that PMP holders earn a 17% higher median salary than non-certified peers.

AmbitionBox's project manager page, based on about 1.8 lakh salaries and updated on 20 October 2026, shows that typical range for India, with Hyderabad at ₹19.8 lakh to ₹21.9 lakh (AmbitionBox, October 2026). By industry, Management Consulting shows ₹22.5 to 24.8 lakh and IT Services and Consulting ₹19.7 to 21.7 lakh.

PMI says PMP holders report 17% higher median salaries than those without the certification (PMI PMP certification page, October 2026). This is a global figure, not an India-only number.

10. A 90-day plan to land a PMP role

Short answer: Spend the first month fixing your positioning and resume, the second month applying and networking with focus, and the third month interviewing and negotiating, while you keep earning or using your PMP.

This plan works whether you are already PMP certified or preparing for the exam. It is general guidance, not a promise of results.

Days 1 to 30: get ready

  • Pick your target. Choose one or two titles (for example Project Manager or Technical Project Manager) and one or two industries.
  • Collect proof. List every project you led: goal, team size, budget, duration, method (predictive, agile or hybrid) and result.
  • Rewrite your resume. Lead with a summary that names PMP, your years leading projects and your domain. Turn duties into results with numbers. Our PMP resume guide has examples and ATS keywords.
  • Update LinkedIn. Add "PMP" after your name only once you hold it. Before that, write "Preparing for PMP" honestly.
  • Fill skill gaps. If job descriptions keep asking for Jira, MS Project or agile, practise them now.

Days 31 to 60: apply with focus

  • Shortlist 20 to 30 target companies, with GCCs and IT services firms first if you are in Hyderabad.
  • Send 5 to 10 tailored applications a week rather than 100 generic ones.
  • Ask for 2 to 3 referrals a week from people you know.
  • Attend at least one PMI chapter or project management meetup.
  • Track every application in a simple spreadsheet.

Days 61 to 90: interview and close

  • Prepare 8 to 10 STAR stories: a project you rescued, a scope dispute, a risk you caught early, a difficult stakeholder, a team conflict, an agile transition.
  • Practise explaining earned value, change control and risk responses in simple words.
  • Prepare questions for the employer about team size, methods, clients and success measures.
  • Compare offers on role scope and growth, not only on pay.

If you are not PMP certified yet

Book your exam date while you job hunt. PMI's exam has 180 questions in 240 minutes, with two 10-minute breaks (PMI PMP certification page, October 2026). The exam fee shown to India visitors is ₹27,406 for PMI members and ₹55,488 at full price, paid after your application is accepted. After you pay, you have one year to take the exam, and you can attempt it up to three times in that year. Saying "PMP exam scheduled for next month" in an interview shows clear intent.

11. Mistakes that cost PMP candidates the job

Short answer: The most common mistakes are relying on the certificate alone, writing duty-based resumes, ignoring agile, applying with one generic resume, and overstating experience.

  • Treating PMP as the whole story. The certificate opens the door. Your project results get you the job.
  • Listing duties, not outcomes. "Managed a team" says little. "Delivered a 9-month migration for a banking client with a 12-person team, two weeks early" says a lot.
  • Ignoring agile and hybrid. Most IT and GCC roles expect both.
  • Mass applying. One generic resume sent to hundreds of jobs rarely works.
  • Overstating experience. PMI checks the experience you claim before you can sit the exam, and interviewers check details too. Be accurate.
  • Letting PMP lapse. PMP must be renewed every three years with 60 PDUs (professional development units) (PMI PMP certification page, October 2026). An expired credential on a resume is a red flag.

Frequently asked questions

What jobs can you get with a PMP certification?

With a PMP certification you can apply for Project Manager, Senior Project Manager, Technical Project Manager, Program Manager, Delivery Manager, PMO Manager, Portfolio Manager and Project Management Consultant roles. Related roles such as Engagement Manager, Implementation Manager, Construction Project Manager and Clinical Project Manager also list PMP. Your exact options depend on your years of project leadership, your domain and the size of projects you have run.

Does PMP certification help you get a job?

Yes, PMP helps you get shortlisted, but it does not guarantee a job. Many employers list it as required or preferred, and it proves you have led projects and passed a demanding exam. Recruiters still decide based on your delivery record, agile and hybrid skills, stakeholder handling, tools and domain knowledge. Combine PMP with a results-based resume and strong interview stories for the best chance.

How many PMP jobs are there in India?

On 22 October 2026, Naukri showed 50,668 results for the keyword PMP across India. This figure counts every listing that mentions PMP anywhere, including nice-to-have mentions, so it is not a count of jobs that require PMP. Counts change daily, so check the live numbers when you search.

How many PMP jobs are there in Hyderabad?

On 22 October 2026, Naukri showed 4,899 results for the keyword PMP in Hyderabad and Secunderabad, roughly one in ten of the India total. These are keyword matches that include roles where PMP is only preferred. Hyderabad's demand comes mainly from IT services companies, global capability centres, pharma and infrastructure firms, which makes it one of India's stronger PMP job markets.

Which industries hire PMP certified professionals in India?

IT services and consulting hire the most project managers in India. Other major employers are global capability centres, software product companies, management consulting firms, banking and insurance, engineering and construction, real estate, and pharma and healthcare. AmbitionBox salary data from October 2026 shows IT Services and Consulting with by far the most project manager salary reports, followed by Management Consulting.

Can a fresher get a PMP job?

Not directly. PMP needs years of experience leading projects, for example 3 years within the last 10 years if you hold a bachelor's degree. Freshers usually start as project coordinators, PMO analysts, business analysts or site engineers, may earn the CAPM as an early credential, and apply for PMP once their leadership experience meets PMI's rule.

Can I get PMP certification without experience?

No. PMI requires experience managing or leading projects before you can apply. The amount depends on your education: 5 years with a secondary school diploma, 4 years with an associate's or vocational diploma, 3 years with a bachelor's degree, or 2 years with a GAC-accredited degree. The experience must fall within the last 10 years, without double counting overlapping projects.

Is PMP recognised in India?

Yes, PMP is widely recognised in India. Large IT services companies, global capability centres, consulting firms, banks and construction companies list it in job descriptions. PMI says more than 1.7 million people hold the PMP worldwide, making it the most widely held project certification. Indian employers working with global clients value it because it uses a common project management language.

What is the salary for PMP certified jobs in India?

AmbitionBox shows a typical project manager salary of ₹17.1 lakh to ₹18.9 lakh a year in India for people with 4 to 19 years of experience, based on its October 2026 data. In Hyderabad the range is ₹19.8 lakh to ₹21.9 lakh. These figures cover all project managers. PMI separately reports that PMP holders earn a 17% higher median salary than non-certified peers globally.

Which city has the most PMP jobs in India?

The main markets are Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, Chennai, Mumbai and the NCR, because they host large IT services centres and global capability centres. Hyderabad stands out for its GCC growth and is listed among AmbitionBox's top-paying metros for project managers, with a typical range of ₹19.8 lakh to ₹21.9 lakh a year.

Are there PMP jobs in Bangalore?

Yes, Bengaluru is one of India's biggest markets for PMP and project management roles, driven by IT services, product companies and global capability centres. AmbitionBox shows a typical project manager range of ₹19.3 lakh to ₹21.4 lakh a year in Bengaluru, based on its October 2026 data. Search for several titles, such as program manager and delivery manager, not just PMP.

Are there PMP jobs in Pune and Chennai?

Yes, both cities have strong demand from IT services firms, global capability centres and engineering companies. AmbitionBox shows typical project manager ranges of ₹19.6 lakh to ₹21.7 lakh a year in Pune and ₹19.3 lakh to ₹21.3 lakh in Chennai, from its October 2026 data. Construction and manufacturing projects add more roles in both cities.

Are remote PMP jobs available?

Yes, but remote project manager roles are fewer and more competitive than office or hybrid roles. They are most common with product companies and global clients. To compete, show that you can manage distributed teams across time zones, run clear written reporting, and use collaboration tools well. Part-time PMP jobs are rare, though freelance PMO support and training work exist.

What do PMP job descriptions ask for besides PMP?

Most ask for years of hands-on delivery, agile and hybrid experience, scope, schedule and cost control, risk management, stakeholder and team leadership, tools such as Jira, Confluence and MS Project, and domain knowledge. Soft skills like communication, negotiation and conflict handling appear in almost every listing. Show each with a specific example and a number on your resume.

Do PMP jobs need agile skills?

Yes, most PMP jobs in IT and global capability centres expect agile and hybrid skills. PMI's July 2026 exam content outline says about 40% of exam items are predictive and the remaining 60% are split between agile and hybrid approaches. Employers think the same way, so learn Scrum ceremonies, backlog management and hybrid planning alongside traditional planning.

Is PMP useful for construction and civil jobs?

Yes, PMP is useful for construction, civil, MEP and infrastructure project manager roles. These jobs need strong scheduling, cost control, contract and vendor management, and safety compliance. PMI's July 2026 outline includes compliance areas such as health and safety and sustainability. AmbitionBox shows Engineering and Construction as one of the main industries employing project managers in India.

What is the difference between a project manager and a program manager job?

A project manager plans and delivers one or more projects on scope, time and budget. A program manager coordinates several related projects toward one business goal and is usually a more senior role. Both titles often mention PMP in India. Many people move from project manager to senior project manager, then to program manager or delivery manager.

How do I get a job after PMP certification?

Pick one or two target titles and industries, rewrite your resume around measurable project results, and add PMP to your LinkedIn headline. Shortlist 20 to 30 target companies, send a few tailored applications each week, ask for referrals, and attend PMI chapter events. Prepare 8 to 10 STAR stories for interviews. Internal moves and referrals usually work faster than mass applying.

Can I apply for PMP jobs before passing the exam?

Yes, you can apply while preparing, but be honest. Write "Preparing for PMP" or mention your exam date, never PMP after your name before you pass. Many roles list PMP as preferred, not mandatory, so your project record can still get you shortlisted. Telling an interviewer your exam is already scheduled shows clear commitment.

Does PMP guarantee a job or placement?

No. PMP does not guarantee a job, and no training provider can promise one. PMI also cannot be asked to waive its experience rule. The certificate improves your chances of being shortlisted, but employers hire based on your delivery record, skills, interviews and fit. Be cautious of any course that sells a PMP job guarantee.

How much does the PMP exam cost in India?

PMI's PMP page, as shown to India visitors in October 2026, lists the exam fee as ₹27,406 for PMI members and ₹55,488 at full price. You pay the fee only after PMI accepts your application. After payment you have one year to take the exam and can attempt it up to three times in that period.

How long is PMP valid and how do I keep it?

PMP is valid for three years. To renew it, you must earn 60 PDUs (professional development units) in each three-year cycle. An expired PMP on your resume is a red flag for recruiters, so spread your learning across the whole cycle instead of rushing to collect PDUs in the final months before your renewal date.

What is the best way to move from developer or tester to project manager?

Start by taking ownership of small projects, releases or workstreams in your current team, and keep a log of what you led and the results. Learn agile and hybrid delivery, tools such as Jira and MS Project, and stakeholder reporting. Apply for PMP once your leadership experience meets PMI's rule, then target technical project manager roles, often through an internal move.

Does Brolly Academy offer PMP training in Hyderabad?

Yes. Brolly Academy offers a PMP exam preparation and skills course with 35 contact hours of instructor-led training over 4 weeks, in classroom batches near JNTU Metro Station in Hyderabad and online batches with flexible timings. Fees start at ₹10,999 for the Video Recording Plan, and the next batch begins on Monday, 2 November 2026.

Do Brolly Academy's live class hours count toward PMI's 35-hour requirement?

Check PMI's rules before you rely on any live class. From 1 December 2026, PMI counts live-class hours only from PMI Authorized Training Partners, China Registered Education Providers or eligible accredited academic programmes, while self-paced courses from any organisation still count. Brolly Academy's course page does not say it is a PMI Authorized Training Partner, so treat its course as exam preparation and skills training.
