Key takeaways
- On 23 October 2026, Naukri listed 2,022 Hyderabad and Secunderabad results for "embedded systems". These are keyword matches, not a count of confirmed embedded vacancies.
- Our company table lists 38 employers, each with a live embedded-type listing on Naukri in Hyderabad on 24 October 2026, such as Qualcomm, AMD, Nvidia, Mobis India, Viasat, Emerson and Perceptyne Robots. A listing is not a hiring promise.
- AmbitionBox shows typical Hyderabad ranges of about ₹6.4 to 7.1 lakh for embedded software engineers and ₹9.5 to 10.8 lakh for firmware engineers (October 2026).
- India's electronics and semiconductor push, including Semicon 2.0 approved in July 2026, is growing the base of hardware and chip work that embedded engineers support.
- Recruiters in Hyderabad shortlist on proof. A board, a working project, clean C code on GitHub and a clear explanation beat a long list of course names.
1. Embedded systems companies in Hyderabad: a sourced 2026 list
Short answer: On 24 October 2026, at least 38 companies had live embedded, firmware, embedded Linux or device driver listings in Hyderabad on Naukri. They include chip makers such as Qualcomm, AMD, Nvidia, Texas Instruments and Silicon Labs, automotive and aerospace firms such as Mobis India, Viasat and Azista BST Aerospace, and many design services, robotics and IoT companies.
Many pages publish a "top 50 embedded companies in Hyderabad" list with no source. We built ours a different way. On 24 October 2026 we read Naukri's Hyderabad and Secunderabad results for eight searches: embedded systems, embedded software, firmware, embedded Linux, embedded C, automotive embedded, avionics embedded and device driver. A company made the table only if it had at least one live listing with Hyderabad as a location and an embedded-type title. We left out recruitment agencies, unnamed "leading client" posts and training institutes.
The source column shows the listing title we saw. Domain is a plain description of the work in that listing.
How to use this company list
- It is a snapshot, not the whole market. Many other employers post embedded roles in Hyderabad at other times, and some hire only through their own careers pages.
- A listing is not a hiring promise. Roles open and close every week.
- Check the real role. Read each description for words like firmware, microcontroller, drivers, RTOS or board bring-up. Some titles say "software engineer" but sit in an embedded team.
- Go to the source. Open the company's own careers page and search for Hyderabad. Product companies often post roles there first.
- Match your level. Large chip companies mostly post experienced roles. Design services firms, robotics and IoT companies are more likely to take freshers and juniors.
How to build your own company list
Spend one hour a week on this:
- Search "embedded", "firmware", "embedded Linux" and "device driver" on Naukri and LinkedIn with Hyderabad as the location.
- Note every company in a spreadsheet with the role, experience asked and key skills.
- After four weeks, sort by how often each company appears. Those are your most active employers.
- Mark each one as product or services, and by domain, like the table above.
This habit also shows you which skills keep coming up, so you know what to learn next.
2. What the embedded systems job market in Hyderabad looks like in 2026
Short answer: Hyderabad has a large and steady flow of embedded listings. On 23 October 2026, Naukri showed 2,022 "embedded systems" matches for Hyderabad and Secunderabad, roughly 15% of the 13,842 matches across India.
An embedded system is a small computer built into a bigger product to do one job, such as the controller in a washing machine or a car's airbag unit. For the basics, read our guide on what embedded systems are. Embedded engineers write the software for these devices, bring up the hardware and test it.
Now the numbers. On 23 October 2026, the Naukri page for embedded systems jobs in Hyderabad and Secunderabad showed "1 - 20 of 2022" results. The same search across India showed 13,842 results. That puts Hyderabad at roughly one in seven of the national results on that day.
Read these numbers with care:
- They are keyword matches. Some are core firmware roles. Others only mention embedded systems in passing.
- They change every day. A count you see next week will be different.
- Some listings repeat. The same role may be posted by the company and by an agency.
So do not read 2,022 as "2,022 embedded jobs waiting for you". Read it as a sign of a busy market. Your real target list will be smaller once you filter by role, experience and skills.
Hyderabad counts by search term
Different words pull different results, so search with more than one. On 24 October 2026, Naukri showed these keyword-match counts with Hyderabad and Secunderabad as the location (see, for example, the Naukri firmware jobs page for Hyderabad):
Broad terms such as "embedded software" and "embedded C" match many general software listings, so their counts run higher than "embedded systems". Narrow terms such as "firmware", "embedded Linux" and "device driver" give smaller but more focused lists. The results overlap, so never add them up.
Internships are a separate, smaller market
On 23 October 2026, Naukri's embedded internship search showed 109 results for all of India, and Internshala listed 31 embedded systems internships in October 2026. If you are still studying, search both.
3. Why Hyderabad is a strong city for embedded careers
Short answer: Hyderabad mixes global chip and technology companies, defence and aerospace work, engineering services firms and a growing set of product and robotics companies, and India's national electronics and semiconductor push is adding more hardware work around them.
Hyderabad is not only an IT services city. Much of its engineering work touches hardware, and embedded engineers sit where software meets hardware.
Three national trends matter for your job search:
- Electronics manufacturing is growing fast. A PIB-hosted note on the Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS), dated 3 February 2026, says India's electronics production grew from ₹1.9 lakh crore in 2014-15 to ₹11.3 lakh crore in 2024-25, and that the sector supports around 25 lakh jobs. The ECMS note (PIB, February 2026) also lists an ECMS outlay of ₹40,000 crore in Budget 2026-27. Every electronic product needs firmware, so more production means more embedded work.
- Semiconductors are getting long-term support. On 15 July 2026, the Union Cabinet approved Semicon 2.0 (PM India, July 2026) with an outlay of ₹1,27,500 crore. The same note says 12 manufacturing units have been approved with over ₹1.64 lakh crore of investment, the first fab is scheduled to be commissioned in 2028, and 24 chip design projects are supported.
- Talent pipelines are being built. The Semicon 2.0 note also says about 68,000 students from 315 universities have been trained on chip design (EDA) tools. Many of these graduates move into embedded, validation and hardware-software roles.
None of this guarantees you a job, but the long-term direction for hardware and firmware work in India is up.
4. Types of embedded systems companies in Hyderabad
Short answer: Embedded employers in Hyderabad fall into six groups: semiconductor and chip companies, automotive and EV suppliers, defence and aerospace, robotics and industrial automation, consumer electronics and IoT product firms, and IT or engineering services companies that do embedded work for clients.
The company table in section 1 gives named examples of each group. The type of company matters as much as the name, because it decides what you will do every day.
Product companies vs services companies
This is the biggest choice you make in Hyderabad.
- Product companies build their own chips, boards or devices. You often go deeper into one product. Interviews tend to be harder and more technical.
- Services companies build software for other companies. You may see many projects and domains in a few years. They often hire freshers in larger batches and train them.
Neither is better for everyone. Many engineers start in services for broad exposure, then move to a product company once they have a specialism. Small design houses and robotics firms are worth a look too: they often give freshers real hardware work, such as board bring-up and driver writing, from the first week.
5. Embedded roles in demand in Hyderabad
Short answer: The titles that appear most in embedded listings include Embedded Systems Engineer, Embedded Software Engineer, Firmware Engineer, Embedded Systems Developer (Linux), Embedded Hardware Engineer, IoT Engineer, BSP and driver engineer, and validation engineer.
Versions of these titles appeared on Naukri's embedded listings on 23 October 2026, such as Embedded Systems Developer (Linux), BSP Android Framework Engineer (HAL/Driver) and Validation Tools Engineer (SoC/Embedded), along with newer ones such as Embedded AI Architecture and Systems Engineer. Here is what the main ones mean.
A few terms you will see in these listings:
- Microcontroller (MCU): a single chip with a processor, memory and input/output pins, built to control one device.
- Firmware: the software stored inside the device that makes the hardware work.
- BSP (board support package): the code that lets an operating system run on a specific board.
- HAL (hardware abstraction layer): a code layer that hides the details of the hardware so higher code can stay the same across chips.
What freshers usually start as
Most freshers in Hyderabad start as embedded software engineer, trainee engineer, validation engineer or associate engineer in a services company. Validation and test roles are a smart entry point: you learn the product, the tools and the lab, and you can move into development within a year or two if you keep coding. Our guide to embedded systems jobs for freshers covers entry-level titles and a 90-day job plan in detail.
6. Skills Hyderabad embedded employers look for
Short answer: Almost every listing asks for C (often embedded C), microcontroller basics, communication protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN), interrupts and timers, debugging with real tools, and for many roles, an RTOS or embedded Linux.
You need a solid core and one area where you go deep.
The core skills
- C programming. Pointers, structures, bit manipulation, memory, and the volatile keyword. C is still the main language for firmware.
- Microcontroller basics. How a chip boots, how clocks, memory and peripherals work, and how to read a datasheet and reference manual.
- GPIO, timers and interrupts. GPIO (general-purpose input/output) pins turn LEDs on, read buttons and talk to simple devices. Timers create delays and PWM signals. An interrupt lets hardware stop the main code to handle an urgent event, and an ISR (interrupt service routine) is the short function that runs when it happens.
- Communication protocols. UART is a simple two-wire serial link used for debug consoles and modules. SPI is a fast link for displays, flash memory and sensors. I2C connects many slow devices over two shared wires. CAN is the robust network used inside cars and machines.
- Debugging. Using a debugger probe to step through code, plus a multimeter, logic analyser and oscilloscope to see what the hardware is really doing.
The next layer
- RTOS. A real-time operating system runs several tasks and guarantees they meet their timing. FreeRTOS and Zephyr are common choices. Learn tasks, priorities, queues and mutexes first.
- Embedded Linux. Needed for processor-based products and most BSP and driver roles. Learn to build a kernel, write a simple driver and use the command line well.
- Bootloader basics. A bootloader is the small program that runs first at power-on, checks the main firmware and starts it. It also handles firmware updates.
- Python and Git. Validation roles use Python scripts to drive tests, and every team uses Git.
Domain roles add extras: CAN tools for automotive, careful documentation for defence, and MQTT or Bluetooth for IoT products.
7. Embedded systems salaries in Hyderabad
Short answer: AmbitionBox's typical Hyderabad ranges in October 2026 were about ₹6.4 to 7.1 lakh a year for embedded software engineers, ₹6.6 to 7.3 lakh for embedded engineers, ₹9.5 to 10.8 lakh for firmware engineers and ₹5.7 to 7.3 lakh for embedded systems engineers (small sample).
These figures come from AmbitionBox salary profiles, read on 23 October 2026. They are the "typical range" AmbitionBox shows to visitors who are not logged in. They are not exact averages, and they mix freshers with people who have a few years of experience. Always look at the sample size: a range built on a few dozen salaries can move a lot.
Source: the AmbitionBox Embedded Software Engineer salary page for Hyderabad and the matching AmbitionBox profiles for the other three titles, October 2026.
How Hyderabad compares with India
For the same titles, AmbitionBox's India-wide typical ranges in October 2026 were:
- Embedded Software Engineer: about ₹7.2 to 8 lakh (1 to 5 years, about 12,500 salaries)
- Embedded Engineer: about ₹6 to 6.6 lakh (0 to 5 years, about 6,800 salaries)
- Firmware Engineer: about ₹10.7 to 11.8 lakh (0 to 7 years, about 2,000 salaries)
- Embedded Systems Engineer: about ₹6.8 to 7.5 lakh (0 to 6 years, about 1,200 salaries)
So Hyderabad sits close to the national picture. It is a little lower for some titles and a little higher for embedded engineers. Differences of this size are within what you would expect from different samples, so do not read too much into them.
Firmware roles show the highest ranges in this data, in both Hyderabad and India. Freshers usually start below these ranges, because the ranges include people with experience. Over time, skills such as embedded Linux, drivers and strong debugging move your pay more than the city does.

8. Where embedded companies sit in Hyderabad
Short answer: Embedded employers are spread across the city, with most technology offices in the western IT corridor and some manufacturing, defence and electronics units in industrial areas. Always check the exact office location on each listing.
We found no verified source that maps embedded companies by area, so here is only the general picture. Services companies and large technology firms mostly sit in the western IT corridor. Manufacturing, electronics production and some defence-related units are more often in industrial estates and on the city's edges, because they need factory and lab space. Small design houses can be anywhere. Some listings name the area: on 24 October 2026, for example, an avionics embedded role at Neemus Software was listed at Balanagar, an industrial area in the north of the city. When a listing says only "Hyderabad", ask the recruiter for the office address early.
Plan your commute before you accept, because embedded work is often lab-based and needs more days on site than a pure software role.
Can embedded engineers work from home?
Some can, some of the time. Pure software parts of the job, such as writing code, reviews and documentation, can be done remotely. But a lot of embedded work needs boards, debug probes, oscilloscopes and test rigs in a lab. Most embedded roles in Hyderabad are on-site or hybrid. Fully remote embedded roles exist but are rare, especially for freshers.
9. Embedded systems startups and T-Works in Hyderabad
Short answer: Hyderabad has a growing set of hardware and embedded startups, from robotics and edge AI to IoT and space companies, and T-Works, a hardware prototyping centre set up by the Government of Telangana in Raidurgam, gives makers and startups labs for electronics, testing and PCB fabrication.
Several companies in our table are young product firms rather than large MNCs. Robotics, edge AI, IoT and space startups often need engineers who can do a bit of everything: write firmware, bring up a board, debug a sensor and talk to the hardware designer. That makes them a strong place to learn fast.
T-Works is worth knowing about. According to its About Us page (T-Works, October 2026), it was set up by the Government of Telangana, founded on 28 November 2017, and opened its Phase-I building of 78,000 square feet in Raidurgam, Hyderabad, in March 2022. It calls itself India's largest prototyping centre. Its facilities include an electronics and testing lab and a PCB fabrication lab, and the page says it has supported 300 or more startups and MSMEs.
How this helps your job search:
- Find hardware startups. Startups that build physical products often prototype at such centres, events and programmes. Their founders are reachable and often hire through contacts.
- Build better projects. Public prototyping labs and maker events let you see how real products are built, which gives you stronger stories for interviews.
Before you join a startup, ask about the product stage, funding runway, who will mentor you and whether you will get time on real hardware.
10. How to apply for embedded jobs in Hyderabad, step by step
Short answer: Build a strong core and two or three projects, shape your resume for each role type, apply through careers pages and job portals every week, prepare for technical rounds that test C and hardware basics, and follow up with care.
Step 1: Build proof before you apply
Many resumes list "Embedded C, ARM, RTOS". Few come with proof. Build two or three projects on a real board:
- A sensor project that reads data over I2C or SPI and sends it over UART.
- A motor or LED control project using timers, PWM and interrupts.
- An RTOS project with two or more tasks sharing data safely, or a simple embedded Linux driver.
Put each on GitHub with a clear README, a wiring photo, a short demo video and notes on what broke and how you fixed it. Our embedded systems projects guide has 40 ideas by level.
Step 2: Write a resume that matches the role
Put your strongest project at the top, use the listing's words only for skills you really have, and write results, not tasks. "Moved sensor reads from polling to interrupts" beats "worked on sensors". Keep it to one page.
Step 3: Apply in three channels
- Company careers pages. Check the companies on your list every two weeks.
- Job portals. Naukri, LinkedIn and others with "Hyderabad" as the location. Set daily alerts for "embedded", "firmware" and "embedded Linux".
- Referrals. A referral from an engineer inside the company moves your resume to the top. See the networking section below.
Apply to a few well-matched roles each week.
Step 4: Prepare for the interview pattern
Most embedded interviews in Hyderabad follow a similar pattern:
- Online test: C output questions, pointers, bit manipulation, basic aptitude.
- Technical round 1: C deep dive, microcontroller basics, interrupts, memory layout.
- Technical round 2: protocols, RTOS or Linux, debugging stories, your projects in detail.
- Managerial or HR round: communication, team fit, why embedded, why this company.
Practise explaining your projects with a block diagram and the bugs you fixed. Our embedded systems interview questions guide has 60 questions with model answers.
Red flags to avoid
- Pay-to-get-a-job offers. A real employer does not ask you for money for a job, training bond deposit or "security fee" before joining.
- Vague job descriptions with no technical details and a promise of very high pay for freshers.
- Offers without a written letter that states role, salary, location and joining date.
If something feels off, search the company name with "reviews" and ask people on LinkedIn who work there.
11. How to network for embedded jobs in Hyderabad
Short answer: Connect with embedded engineers on LinkedIn, join local meetups and hardware communities, attend college and industry tech events, share your project work in public, and ask for referrals only after you have built a real connection.
- LinkedIn, done well. Follow Hyderabad embedded companies, connect with engineers in roles you want, and post a short update with a photo or video each time you finish a project milestone.
- Meetups and communities. Join hardware, IoT, robotics, Linux and maker meetups in Hyderabad and talk to people about what they build.
- Hackathons and project expos. A working demo is the best conversation starter with engineers from local firms.
- Alumni. College seniors in embedded roles are your warmest contacts. Ask about their work first, not for a job.
Public learning options in Hyderabad
If you want a structured, public programme, C-DAC's ACTS division lists a PG Certificate Programme in Embedded Systems Design (PGCP-ESD) at its Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Pune centres. According to the C-DAC ACTS page (October 2026), its PG certificate programmes run about 1,200 hours (around 24 weeks), admit students through the C-CAT entrance test, start in February and August, and need an engineering, IT or electronics degree, or an MSc or MCA, with 55%. Check the official page for the current fee and dates.
12. A 12-week plan to become job-ready for Hyderabad roles
Short answer: Spend weeks 1 to 4 on C and microcontroller basics, weeks 5 to 8 on peripherals, protocols and debugging, and weeks 9 to 12 on an RTOS or Linux project, your resume and steady applications.
This plan assumes about two hours on weekdays and more at weekends.
From week 9 onward, start applying even if you do not feel ready. Interviews themselves teach you what to fix. Two common mistakes to avoid: learning only on simulators, when recruiters want to hear about real hardware and real bugs, and listing tools you have never used, because interviewers will ask about each one.

Small firms often give freshers real hardware work early, such as board bring-up and driver writing.
Should I join a product company or a services company?
Both are good starts, and the right choice depends on you. Product companies build their own chips or devices, so you go deeper into one product, and interviews are usually harder. Services companies build software for clients, so you see many projects and domains, and they often hire freshers in larger batches. Many engineers start in services and later move to product work.
Where are embedded companies located in Hyderabad?
Embedded employers are spread across the city. Most IT, services and large technology offices sit in the western IT corridor, while manufacturing, electronics production and some defence-related units are often in industrial estates, such as Balanagar, and on the city's edges. There is no verified area map, so always check the exact office location on each listing and plan your commute before you accept.
Can embedded engineers in Hyderabad work from home?
Mostly not fully. Coding, reviews and documentation can be done remotely, but much embedded work needs boards, debug probes, oscilloscopes and test rigs in a lab. Most embedded roles in Hyderabad are on-site or hybrid. Fully remote embedded roles exist but are rare, especially for freshers who need hands-on lab time and guidance from seniors.
Which semiconductor companies have embedded jobs in Hyderabad?
On 24 October 2026, chip companies with live embedded-type listings in Hyderabad on Naukri included Qualcomm, AMD, Nvidia, Texas Instruments, Silicon Labs, Axiado, Kinara.ai and Ethernovia. How long does it take to get job-ready for embedded roles?
With about two hours on weekdays and more at weekends, many learners can become job-ready in about 12 weeks. Spend the first four weeks on C and one microcontroller, the next four on protocols and debugging, and the last four on an RTOS or Linux project, your resume and steady applications. Start applying from week 9 so interviews guide your learning.
What projects impress embedded recruiters in Hyderabad?
Recruiters like projects on real boards that show core skills. Good examples are a sensor read over I2C or SPI and sent over UART, motor or LED control with timers, PWM and interrupts, and an RTOS project with tasks sharing data safely, or a simple Linux driver. Put each on GitHub with a README, a wiring photo, a demo video and notes on bugs you fixed.
What does an embedded interview in Hyderabad look like?
Most follow a similar pattern. An online test checks C output questions, pointers, bit manipulation and aptitude. The first technical round goes deep into C, microcontroller basics, interrupts and memory. The second covers protocols, RTOS or Linux, debugging stories and your projects. A final managerial or HR round checks communication, team fit and why you chose embedded work.
How do I network for embedded jobs in Hyderabad?
Follow Hyderabad embedded companies on LinkedIn, connect with engineers in roles you want, and post short updates with photos or videos when you finish project milestones. Attend hardware, IoT, robotics and Linux meetups, hackathons and project expos. Reach out to college seniors in embedded roles. Ask for referrals only after you have built a real connection and can show your work.
Is embedded systems a good career in India in 2026?
Yes, for people who enjoy both coding and hardware. A PIB-hosted ECMS note from February 2026 says India's electronics production grew from ₹1.9 lakh crore in 2014-15 to ₹11.3 lakh crore in 2024-25. Semicon 2.0, approved in July 2026 with an outlay of ₹1,27,500 crore, adds long-term support for chips. Every electronic product needs firmware, so embedded skills stay useful.
What red flags should I watch for in embedded job offers?
Be careful if anyone asks you to pay money for a job, a training bond deposit or a security fee before joining. Real employers do not do this. Also watch for vague job descriptions with no technical details, very high pay promised to freshers, and offers without a written letter stating role, salary, location and joining date. Check reviews and ask current employees.
