About the Spring Boot Course
Spring Boot helps organise and run Spring-based applications with conventions, starter dependencies and auto-configuration. Those conveniences do not remove the need to understand your code. You will trace requests through controllers, services and persistence, then test validation, failures and permissions at the appropriate layer.
The existing Spring Training page covers broader framework foundations. This course concentrates on implementing and operating Spring Boot backend applications. It is not Core Java from scratch, a full frontend programme or a promise to teach every distributed-systems pattern in one short course.
For further background, read Spring Boot reference documentation. Use current guidance that matches your learning task and the tools in your batch.
What Is Spring Boot and Why Does It Matter?
Spring Boot helps Java developers create standalone Spring applications with conventions and configuration support. This course uses it to build backend APIs with validation, persistence, security and tests. Learning a framework is not the same as learning every aspect of distributed systems.
Deliver a complete APIConnect request handling, business rules, database changes and meaningful responses.
Test important behaviourCheck invalid input, denied access and transaction failures as well as successful requests.
Prepare the service for operationExternalise configuration and understand health and diagnostic information before deployment.
Benefits of Learning Spring Boot
Learn to produce an API that behaves predictably for valid requests, bad inputs and denied access, not merely one that starts successfully.
Build clear service boundariesSeparate request handling, business logic and persistence so tests and changes remain manageable.
Find failures before releaseUse validation, automated tests and explicit error responses. Exercise unhappy paths instead of only the successful request.
Prepare maintainable deliveryKeep configuration outside code, document setup and explain monitoring and recovery for a failed dependency.
Who Should Join?
You should know Java classes, interfaces, collections and exception handling. Basic SQL, HTTP and JSON are strongly recommended. A simple command-line Java application and a few SQL joins are useful readiness checks before starting.
Java developersTurn language knowledge into structured backend services.
Backend learnersBuild APIs with persistence, validation and meaningful tests.
Working developers refreshing skillsReview configuration, security boundaries and deployable application practices.
For complementary learning, explore Core Java Training. Prepare Java collections, exceptions and object-oriented programming before learning Spring Boot.
Spring Boot Prerequisites and Readiness Checklist
You should know Java classes, interfaces, collections and exception handling. Basic SQL, HTTP and JSON are strongly recommended. A simple command-line Java application and a few SQL joins are useful readiness checks before starting.
Core JavaBe comfortable with classes, interfaces, collections and exceptions. A Spring annotation cannot replace an understanding of Java behaviour.
Web and SQL basicsUnderstand HTTP methods and status codes plus simple database queries. Review these before building authentication and persistence.
Local development setupUse the JDK and dependency versions agreed for the batch. Confirm your computer can run the IDE and local database.
Spring Boot Course Syllabus: 8 Practical Modules
Each module connects a concept to an exercise and an output you can explain. Work through the foundations before attempting the integrated project.
1. Project setup and Boot foundations
Create a project with Spring Initializr using a compatible JDK and supported dependencies. Understand starters, auto-configuration and application configuration. Run a small endpoint and explain the build and startup sequence instead of relying only on an IDE run button.
2. Dependency injection and application structure
Separate controller, service and repository responsibilities. Use constructor injection and clear configuration. Trace how a request reaches business logic and explain how a small design choice affects testing and maintainability.
3. REST APIs and input validation
Design endpoints, request and response models, status codes and validation errors. Handle missing resources and invalid inputs consistently. Avoid leaking stack traces or internal database details in public responses.
4. Persistence and transactions
Connect a relational database and use supported persistence tools. Model relationships carefully, define transaction boundaries and examine query behaviour. Test rollback and duplicate-record handling rather than assuming every save operation is safe.
5. Security and access boundaries
Apply Spring Security concepts to authentication and authorisation. Test anonymous, ordinary-user and privileged requests. Explain session or token choices and configure CSRF and CORS according to the actual application, not by disabling protections without understanding them.
6. Unit, web and integration tests
Separate business-logic tests from HTTP-layer and database integration checks. Use appropriate test fixtures and controlled dependencies. Include validation, access-denied and failure cases so a passing test suite means more than the happy path works.
7. Configuration and production readiness
Keep secrets out of source control, separate environment configuration and expose only appropriate health information. Add useful structured logs and inspect Actuator capabilities. Plan timeouts and error handling for a simulated external dependency.
8. Packaging, deployment and capstone
Build a reproducible application artifact and document configuration, schema setup and startup. Demonstrate a deployed practice service and its tests. Discuss when a modular monolith is sufficient before introducing microservice complexity.
Discuss Your Learning Goals
Tell the team about your experience and preferred schedule. Book a free demo to discuss the course, lab access and the practical work expected from you.
Practical Skills You Will Develop
Use the exercises to build an explanation as well as a result. You should be able to show what you did, how you checked it and where the limits are.
API designDefine useful contracts and predictable error responses.
Application structureKeep responsibilities clear and code testable.
Data integrityUse validation and transactions deliberately.
Security testingCheck who can perform each operation.
Automated verificationChoose tests that cover behaviour and important failures.
Operational handoverDocument configuration, health and recovery assumptions.
Tools and Lab Requirements
Use a computer capable of running the agreed JDK, IDE and local database. Confirm whether containers are required for the selected exercises. Keep credentials outside source control and use fictional accounts for authentication tests.
JDK and Spring InitializrUse versions supported by the chosen Spring Boot release.
Maven or Gradle and an IDEManage dependencies, run tests and produce reproducible builds.
Database and HTTP clientUse a local lab database and request client with synthetic records.
Consult Spring web-layer testing guide for current guidance. Confirm the software, account permissions and costs needed for your exercises.
Set Up Your Spring Boot Practice Environment
Use a computer capable of running the agreed JDK, IDE and local database. Confirm whether containers are required for the selected exercises. Keep credentials outside source control and use fictional accounts for authentication tests.
Application skeletonCreate a compatible project with Spring Initializr. Record the Java, Spring Boot and build-tool versions used.
Database and API clientUse a local practice database and fictional records. Keep repeatable sample requests for success, invalid input and denied access.
Test and configuration setupSeparate test settings, store secrets outside source control and define a repeatable test command before adding more features.
Spring Boot Learning Roadmap: Foundations to Portfolio
Build confidence in stages. Practice time and your starting knowledge matter as much as the number of scheduled sessions.
Illustrative learning workflow. Screens, figures and scenarios are examples, not student results or live product screenshots.
Stage 1: Build the foundationReview Java prerequisites, dependency injection and configuration. Build a small endpoint with a clear request and response contract.
Stage 2: Apply and validateAdd validation, database access and transactions. Test missing records, invalid data and partial failures.
Stage 3: Present your workPackage the API, document environment setup and review health information. Present the capstone with test results and recovery notes.
Spring Boot: 8-Week Study Plan
Use these milestones to organise practice around the eight modules. Move on when you can explain and demonstrate the output, not just when you have watched a lesson. This suggested pace is separate from your batch timetable.
Weeks 1-2: Service foundationsReview Java prerequisites, dependency injection and configuration. Build a small endpoint with a clear request and response contract.
Weeks 3-4: PersistenceAdd validation, database access and transactions. Test missing records, invalid data and partial failures.
Weeks 5-6: Security and testsAdd appropriate authentication and ownership checks. Use focused tests for business rules, web behaviour and persistence.
Weeks 7-8: DeliveryPackage the API, document environment setup and review health information. Present the capstone with test results and recovery notes.
3 Practical Project Scenarios
These are teaching scenarios using approved lab systems and synthetic data. They are not claims about live client work or previous student results.
Illustrative practice project. Screens, figures and scenarios are examples, not student results or live product screenshots.
Course-enrolment APICreate validated course and enrolment endpoints with role checks, database constraints and integration tests.
Inventory reservation serviceModel stock reservations and cancellation. Test invalid quantities, repeated requests and transaction behaviour.
Support-ticket backendBuild ticket ownership, status transitions and filtered queries. Prevent one user from reading another user's private ticket.
How the Skills Work in Practice
A fictional enrolment API receives an invalid course identifier and an empty email address. Decide which validation happens before persistence and what the caller should receive. A database exception should not become the entire API design.
Add tests for valid enrolment, invalid input, a missing course and an unauthorised update. Then explain which layer owns each rule and how the client can recover. This is more informative than a demo containing only a successful POST request.
Try a Spring Boot Exercise: Test a Booking Request
Use a local practice API with a documented booking contract. A valid request needs a service identifier, a future appointment time and an authenticated owner. Define both the successful result and the failure behaviour before implementing the endpoint. Use test accounts and synthetic records.
1. Write the request rulesState which fields are required and how an invalid request will be reported. For this exercise, choose 201 Created for a new booking and 400 Bad Request for invalid input. Make the error response useful without exposing internal stack traces.
2. Test input and persistenceSend a valid request, a request missing the service identifier and a request with a past appointment time. Verify the response and check the database: invalid requests must not leave a booking behind. Keep validation at the application boundary, not only in a browser form.
3. Check ownership separatelyCreate a booking as test user A and attempt to access it as test user B. Define a consistent denial response for your API and verify that booking details are not disclosed. Authentication identifies a caller; your application still needs the appropriate access check.
What to keep: Keep the request examples, automated assertions and database checks. Explain one failed test and the change that made it pass. The illustrated project screen is a concept example; your written API contract determines the precise status codes and fields.
Continue with the Spring input-validation guide.
How Your Spring Boot Project Can Be Reviewed
Deliver a runnable API with documented contracts, validation, ownership checks and database behaviour. Demonstrate automated tests for success, invalid input and denied access. Explain the configuration and a recovery path for a failed dependency.
Common Spring Boot Mistakes and How to Avoid Them
Use this checklist when reviewing your practice work. Correct the cause of an issue and keep a short explanation of what changed.
Testing only a successful requestAdd missing fields, invalid values and unauthorised access. Check database effects as well as the HTTP response.
Putting every rule in the controllerKeep request handling, business decisions and data access understandable. A small project should still make it clear where each responsibility belongs.
Committing secrets or exposing internalsKeep real credentials out of source control and examples. Return safe error messages and review logs before sharing a project.
What Your Spring Boot Portfolio Should Show
Your backend portfolio should be runnable, understandable and testable. A long feature list is less useful than a small service with dependable behaviour.
API contractDocument methods, inputs, responses, status codes and validation. Include examples without real tokens or personal records.
Test evidenceShow tests for business rules, invalid input, denied access and persistence behaviour. Explain where mocks are and are not appropriate.
Deployment notesRecord compatible versions, environment variables, database setup and health checks. Explain how to diagnose a failed dependency.

Spring Boot vs Spring Framework vs Microservices
These are related concepts at different levels. Choosing Spring Boot does not mean every application should be split into microservices.
Spring FrameworkProvides the wider programming and configuration model, including dependency injection and integration capabilities.
Spring BootBuilds on Spring with conventions, configuration support and application packaging that help you create standalone services.
Microservices architectureConcerns service boundaries, communication, data ownership and operations. It adds distributed-system complexity beyond learning a framework.

Spring Boot Industry Applications and Changing Skills
Spring Boot is used for backend services, internal applications and APIs in many kinds of organisations. Practical Java, database and debugging skills remain important. Microservices are an architectural choice, not a requirement for every project or evidence of seniority by themselves.
Business APIsImplement record management and workflow services with controlled access and predictable error handling.
System integrationsValidate data at boundaries, handle timeouts and avoid duplicate effects when requests are retried.
Service operationsUse health and diagnostic information responsibly. Do not expose sensitive management endpoints to public users.
Spring Boot Market Trends and Current Learning Priorities
A useful Spring Boot learning path includes testability and operations. The official production-ready features guide covers monitoring and management capabilities; our projects connect these to practical service checks. Further reading: Spring Boot production-ready features.
Production-ready servicesHealth, metrics and auditing support operations beyond simply starting the application.
Secure management accessManagement endpoints need appropriate exposure and access controls; diagnostic convenience must not expose sensitive information.
Maintainable upgradesRecord compatible JDK, framework and dependency versions and use regression tests when moving between supported versions.
Spring Boot Placement Preparation and Career Support
Build a job-search package around work you can demonstrate. The preparation below covers your resume, profile, project explanation and interview practice. Confirm which guided sessions are included in your batch; this is placement preparation, not a guaranteed job or employer referral.
Explain a projectDescribe the requirement, your decisions, the result and one limitation. Be ready to answer what you would change for a real deployment.
Show useful evidenceKeep approved files, test results and a concise README or runbook. Remove secrets and private information before sharing a portfolio.
Discuss support servicesAsk the academy which resume, mock-interview or job-search services are included in your batch. Placement assistance is not a job or salary guarantee.
Dependency injectionExplain why a dependency is injected and how that supports substitution and focused tests.
Transactions and consistencyDescribe what should happen when the second step of a database operation fails.
API securityDistinguish authentication from authorisation and demonstrate why knowing an object ID should not grant access.
Use your completed project to write an honest resume entry: problem, your contribution, tools, checks and what changed after feedback. Label practice projects as learning work. Course completion and interview preparation do not guarantee a job, a salary increase or interviews with named employers.
Resume preparationTurn your course project into a clear entry: the problem, your contribution, tools, validation and limitation. Label it as training work rather than paid employment.
LinkedIn and portfolio profileUse a role-focused headline, concise skills and links to permitted work. Describe what you can demonstrate instead of adding unsupported experience.
Technical or case interviewExplain why a dependency is injected and how that supports substitution and focused tests.
Mock presentation and HR practiceRehearse a short introduction, a project walkthrough and a specific example of responding to feedback. Ask for feedback on clarity as well as subject knowledge.
Application planningChoose vacancies that match your current experience, note their requirements and track applications and follow-ups. A course name alone is not a role match.
Skill-gap follow-throughUse interview feedback to plan the next exercise. Revisit weak foundations rather than repeatedly memorising a model answer.
Spring Boot Career and Salary Benchmarks
Salary depends on the role, prior experience, location and the employer. A tool course alone does not establish a salary band. Compare recent job descriptions, required experience and responsibilities rather than relying on a headline income promise.
Spring Boot appears in Java backend and full-stack roles with different experience requirements. Compare postings by API, database, testing, security and deployment responsibilities. Completing a framework course does not by itself establish a senior-engineer salary.
Java Developer: broader roleINR 4,57,988 per yearReported average base salary in India. This is market context, not take-home pay or a course outcome.
Source and dateIndeed: Java Developer. 40 reported salaries; source updated 31 July 2026. Checked 4 October 2026.
How to interpret this figureA small India-wide Java Developer sample, not a Spring Boot specialist or placement salary. Compare the role scope and experience level before using it. Compare like-for-like responsibilities, location and experience; averages cannot predict your individual offer.

Can I learn Spring Boot without Java?
You should learn core Java first. The framework uses Java programming concepts throughout, and missing language foundations make errors and dependency behaviour much harder to understand.
How is this different from Spring Training?
Spring Training covers the broader framework. This course applies Spring Boot conventions to building, testing, securing and running backend applications. The existing course remains a separate foundation option.
Which Spring Boot version will be taught?
Confirm the supported version and JDK used by the batch. Exercises should use matching official documentation and compatible dependencies rather than mixing examples from different major versions.
Does this include microservices?
The outline introduces service boundaries and deployment considerations after building a reliable application. It does not assume every project should be split into microservices or promise exhaustive distributed-systems coverage.
Will I learn a frontend framework?
No complete frontend framework is included in this backend outline. You will inspect API requests and responses. A full-stack programme is more suitable when frontend development is also a core goal.
Can I disable security to make tests pass?
That would hide the behaviour you need to verify. Use suitable test identities and assertions for public and restricted endpoints, and understand the security configuration before changing it.
Are database transactions covered?
Yes. The persistence module includes transaction boundaries and rollback behaviour. You should be able to explain what happens when part of an operation fails.
What should my project README contain?
Include compatible versions, setup steps, environment-variable names without secrets, database preparation, test commands, sample requests and known limitations. Another learner should be able to run the project.
What are the course fee and duration?
The training fee is INR 9,999. The page includes a suggested 8-week learning plan. Confirm the actual class calendar, live hours and final payable amount before payment. Paid third-party tools and external exam fees are separate unless listed in the enrolment quotation.
Can I attend online or in a classroom?
Contact the course team to check current online and classroom availability. Confirm the session time zone, venue, equipment and missed-session arrangements before you enrol.
Does training include an external certification?
Course completion and an external vendor or professional certification are different. Ask for Brolly Academy completion requirements. External exam registration, eligibility, fees and vouchers must be confirmed separately with the issuing body.
How can I check whether this course suits me?
Book a free demo or send your background and learning goal on WhatsApp. Request the assigned trainer profile, sample exercise, confirmed syllabus and complete enrolment terms before making a decision.
Can I start without Java?
Start with Core Java first if classes, collections and exceptions are unfamiliar. This course builds on those concepts rather than replacing them.
Does the course teach frontend development?
The main scope is backend APIs and supporting tests, persistence and configuration. A complete frontend framework is a separate learning path.
Will I learn production deployment?
You will prepare a deployable project and operating notes. Real production release still requires environment-specific security, infrastructure, monitoring and organisational approval.
Will I get a job guarantee?
No job or salary guarantee is included. The course develops skills and project evidence. Hiring depends on your preparation, wider experience, interview performance and employer requirements. Discuss the career-support services included in your batch.
What happens if I miss a class?
Ask the team for the catch-up arrangement for your selected batch before enrolling. Recording access, repeat sessions and individual reviews depend on the written course offer; do not assume unlimited access or lifetime support.
How can I get a free demo and the syllabus?
Use Book Free Demo to open the enquiry form, or WhatsApp Us to message the course team. The syllabus and project-review checklist are available in the downloads section on this page.
When does the next Spring Boot Course batch start?
The upcoming batch starts on Monday, 12 October 2026. Use Check Batch Timings or call +91 81868 44555 for the class timetable and total live teaching hours. Ask about alternative weekday or weekend options if this date does not suit you.
