Amazon offers a certification for different IT professionals like Cloud Practitioner, Architect, Developer, and Operations roles.
You can take an AWS Certification exam from one of our test delivery providers—Pearson VUE or PSI. Explore pricing, availability by language, and testing options for each exam below.
Note: All AWS Certification exams will be delivered through Pearson VUE starting from 1st January.
Note – PSI exam deliveries will continue until December 31, 2022, at 11:59 p.m. UTC.
Note – All AWS Certification exams when you schedule with either Pearson VUE or PSI is available for online proctoring except the AWS Certified SysOps Administrator.
To register for an AWS exam, sign in to aws.training and click Certification in the top navigation.
Click the AWS Certification Account button, followed by Schedule New Exam then check the exam you want to take and click either the Schedule at PSI or Schedule at Pearson VUE button.
Then you will be redirected to the test delivery provider’s scheduling page, where you can do your exam registration.
You only reschedule 2 times after scheduling your original appointment. If you wish to reschedule a 3rd time, you must cancel and schedule a new appointment. The reschedule limit will apply to the new appointment.
Note – Exam appointments cannot be canceled less than 24 hours prior to your appointment.
Your exam results will be available within 5 business days of completing the exam in your AWS Certification Account, and you can find this under Exam History.
You can also cancel or reschedule your exam up to 24 hours before your scheduled appointment without additional fees.
To reschedule or cancel your exam, go to your AWS Certification Account and click the Manage PSI Exams or Manage Pearson VUE exams button.
If you scheduled with PSI, click the “View Details” button on the scheduled exam you wish to manage.
If you scheduled with Pearson VUE, you can select the scheduled exam you wish to manage from the Upcoming Appointments menu.
You will not be able to cancel or reschedule your exam, once you reach the 24-hour window before your scheduled appointment.
You will forfeit the exam fee and are not eligible for a refund, if you miss your scheduled exam appointment.
You won’t be allowed to register again for the exam until 24 hours after your missed exam time. Missing an exam does not result in a “fail” status.
You must wait 14 days to retake the exam if you fail an exam, before you are eligible and there is no limit on attempts.
You must pay the full registration fee for each exam attempt. If you have passed an exam in your 1st attemt, you will not be able to retake the same exam for two years.
You will be eligible to take the new exam version, if the exam has been updated with a new exam guide and exam series code.
Note – Beta exam test takers can take the beta version only once, after if they want to retake the exam they need to wait when the official certification exam becomes available generally.
Beta exam results are typically available for 90 days or less from the close of the beta exam. You will get a notification via email once your exam results are available in your AWS Certification Account.
Note – The AWS certification is valid only for three years. After the end of three years, you need to renew your certificates.
